I am going to do a search for a natural mascara. I've already got some leads on a couple that are under a 2 on the hazard rating. All I can do is try them and see how it goes.
You are so right about how we each have to use what works for us. Every woman has their opinion...that's why there are blogs, right?

Trina, no - the stiletto was not my fave of the two but I really do think it did what it claimed - elongated the lash. No plump at all, though. I like the plump!

Kellie, that is a great website to pass along to our readers. I used to run every product I used through this and even stopped using an entire line of personal care products because of the high toxicity in them. I didn't realize that about the Lash Blast. But I am ashamed to say, that I have not checked it a product on this list for a couple years now.

I'd be interested in hearing about a natural product that actually is a good mascara and is not incredibly expensive.

Make up is such a personal choice for each of us, isn't it? I mean we can tell our stories here about how it works for each of us but in the end it's gotta work for YOU.

For instance, I've heard for years that a certain mascara in a pink and green tube is THE one and I cannot wear it. My MIL can only wear Clinique because she has such bad eye allergies. Go with what works for you for sure!

This is so funny because I just tried this mascara for the first time this morning and came to see if anyone had reviewed it. If not, I was going to do so.

I actually didn't like it. So that just goes to show that not everyone has the same preferences lol. I felt it was a drier formula (mine was the waterproof, so that may have made a difference) and the brush was really prickly. I reviewed the Aldi brand mascara here a month ago and I liked it over this one even despite the strong smell it has.

But I do agree with you on the Lash Blast, I really liked it alot, and yes the packaging is irritating.

I'm a Maybelline Full and Soft gal. I've never found anything that I like better. I am interested in finding a more natural product though. The standard kinds contain some controversial things. Go to www.cosmeticsdatabase.com and type in any mascara you can think of and it will tell you what is in them.

And, I'm ashamed to say that my fave has a high hazard rating of 7 out of 10. I really need to switch. Both of your review products have not been rated on the site but the Lash Blast has an 8 out of 10 hazard rating. I did notice that waterproof mascara seems to be better for you in general.

I have been using Lash Blast for quite a while now. For a former Lancome mascara snob, that's pretty impressive for a drugstore mascara. You're making me want to try Clarins but I guess I'll stick with Lash Blast b/c the price just can't be beat.

I feel I left the review a bit unfinished. Sorry 'bout that. :)

While I loved both of these mascaras, I think I will go back to buying the Lash Blast. The Clarins is awesome mascara but I just don't see myself paying $23 for it. I like the Stiletto but it doesn't plump my lashes like I want. I still think the Lash Blast is a good mascara and a good value.

Good review, Janel! Would you say the Clarins is better than the lashBlast? Or, would I get pretty much the same effect with either? Basically, I'm trying to figure out if I should shell out the $23 -- which I totally would if this is the answer to my lash prayers! ;-)
