I have found a little recession- friendly beauty item from Oscar Blandi called Pronto Colore Root Touch-Up & Highlighting Pen. I know that in these tough economic times that I have tried to extend the length of time between highlights, and this product really helps me get by. It buys you some time between salon visits or in-home color sessions. You can temporarily disguise roots, boost (or even create) highlights and cover gray with the simple stroke of a pen. I was so pleasantly surprised about how professional and natural looking it was.

The Pronto Colore pen is free of amonia and peroxide, full of gentle conditioners, safe for pregnant women, fast drying, waterproof and provides a commitment-free color that will stay put until you shampoo it out. They recommend if you want natural looking highlights to go one to two shades lighter than your natural haircolor and concentrate on your part, temple and hairline. The pen is offered in 6 different colors. I have blonde highlighted hair, so I choose the beige blonde color. I was very happy with how the color matched to my original highlights.

If you are looking for recession friendly beauty products that will save you some money, I highly recommend this product. It was $23.00 at Ulta, and I used a 20% off coupon. You can also find this product at www.oscarblandi.com, Sephora, Amazon, Drugstore.com, QVC and I’m sure there are others. Hope you enjoy this product as much as I have!!

  1. I didn’t know they made those for blondes – so thanks for the info! I’ve been trying to stretch my highlights, and those pesky white hairs are not making me happy!
