Cutie Covers: A Review

Baby gear has come a long way since I had kids in infant carriers, and Cutie Covers is just one more genius idea thought up by a mother and daughter — a chic as well as useful product for protecting an infant in his carrier.

Here is their story:

The brainstorming began over six years ago when Aimee gave birth to her first child and Eileen was blessed with her first Granddaughter.  Despite her best efforts, Aimee couldn’t find a baby blanket or any subsequent contraption to shield her first child from germs, wind or unwanted hands creeping inside the infant seat.

Like most moms, Aimee threw a standard receiving blanket over the seat to avoid these issues.  However, time and time again, the blanket blew off, was kicked off, taken off or just refused to stay put.  Aimee was reminded of these frustrations when her second daughter was born.  Only this time the dilemma was even more frustrating, because it seemed as if Aimee’s eldest daughter took great joy in ripping the receiving blanket off the seat whenever possible.

Aimee and Eileen discussed various ways to keep the blanket in place.  Finally, Eileen sewed a baby blanket with Velcro straps that securely attached to the infant seat. GENUIS!

Everywhere the infant seat went, compliments followed.  These blankets became a standard shower gift to friends and family and remain a party favorite.

We’ve all been there when the blanket covering our precious infant is kicked off and falls to the grimy floor. The Cutie Cover eliminates this problem by attaching to the handle of the infant carrier, where it remains secure while your baby kicks and squirms or loves on the blankey.

It was hard to see exactly how the Cutie Cover works so I requested a sample for review. She sent me this sweet Lovebirds pattern.

The shell is the softest cotton flannel and the lining is a smooth polyester, like the ribbons that babies often love on. I was impressed with the quality of materials and the workmanship. The flaps are placed at the midpoint of the blanket, and they attach with velcro to the handle of the infant carrier. (Some come with ribbons that tie on.)

It also came neatly wrapped in this gorgeous gift box — all ready for gift giving.

There are three collections — Classic Cutie, Posh Pumpkin and Boutique Baby. The fabrics are gorgeous and luxurious. They use polyester satin, 100% polyester, 100% cotton and flannel; each collection uses different material and is marked accordingly on the content tag. Prices range from $49.95 to $64.95 for the most luxurious.

Most are $49.95 or $59.95 but this one with the stunning and cuddly rosette embossing is $64.95.

Isn’t that simply gorgeous? What a perfect gift for a mom to be. You can almost guarantee that no one else at the baby shower will be giving a gift as stylish and unique as this one.

Shop Cutie Covers on their website, and follow them on Twitter and Facebook!

  1. What a great idea! I have done the blanket thing with both kids but these covers look much prettier and they stay put!
