Clinique Redness Relief Powder

For me, spring is the time of the year when I start itching to change up my makeup and skin care routines.  Though it’s still a frosty 38 degrees outside, I am ready for spring.

One thing that plagues me year-round, regardless of season, is red skin.  I don’t have any specific skin condition – just red, irritated skin.

A Sephora order from a month ago dropped a solution into my lap that seemed too good to be true: Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder.

I was skeptical and almost threw the sample in the trash.

I decided to put it to the ultimate test: I put it on half of my face and went out for a brisk walk around the neighborhood.

The results were evident – the powder really helps minimize redness.

I tried to capture the results to show you but skin never cooperates and looks angry on command, so the results in this picture are very minor.

On the left the pink/red color you see is actually my blush, not actual flushed cheeks.   Admittedly, the results are somewhat minor.  My face wasn’t all that red this day to begin with.

My only complaint since I’ve purchased this product is that I’m not sure how it should be worn.  On days I don’t wear makeup, I wear it alone, but I’m unsure if I should be putting it on under or over the liquid foundation I normally wear.  I’m not sure if the two are meant to be compatible.

Either way, if you suffer from red, irritated skin this is definitely something you should check out.  I definitely wear less makeup with this powder on underneath.

The powder can be purchased from Clinique for $32.50.
