Earlier this month, I was invited to attend an event at The Body Shop in Galleria Dallas promoting their new cruelty-free “Brush With Fashion” make-up and accessories collection that features integrated brushes. It had been a LONG time since I’d been to The Body Shop, and I had no idea that they had progressed so far beyond soap and shower gel.
I had my make-up done by beauty guru Shalini Vadhera who made over my face with colors from the new collection.
The foundation is my own (they don’t have my shade) but everything else is from the Brush With Fashion collection including:
- Eyeshadow ($24.00)- This palette includes four shades, a brush, pencil, and larger mirror for easy application on the go.
- Cheek Tint ($15.50)- The cheek tint is SO neat because it’s a clear gel that colors your cheeks according to your body’s own PH. It’s the coolest thing and I love resulting color on me.
- Lip Gloss ($10.00)- The gloss smells amazing, is long-wearing, and has a brush integrated with the tube. It is now the #1 gloss in my purse.
Here’s how it looked…
This look not only LOOKS natural and on trend for Spring/Summer ’11 but it IS naturally derived….
Just as you’d expect from The Body Shop, every make-up product in the ‘Brush With Fashion’ collection features high-quality naturally- derived ingredients – such as marula oil from Namibia – which are sourced through The Body Shop unique Community Fair Trade program. This pioneering fair trade initiative, now celebrating its twenty-third year, ensures that suppliers are justly rewarded for their skill and expertise. Sourced from the Owumbo women of Namibia, marula oil is a very effective moisturizer. Trade with The Body Shop has allowed the 5,000 female entrepreneurs who make the oil to build their own factory, gaining economic independence and a new-found self-esteem.
This is a look that you can really feel good about, is convenient, AND affordable.
