You may have already seen Taylor Swift gracing the cover of every ad, but allow me to introduce you to CoverGirl’s NEW NatureLuxe Collection. A new luxury line of makeup where CoverGirl has replaced heavy, traditionally-used synthetics with carefully-chosen natural alternatives — all while still providing a great makeup product that is entirely affordable. The mission of this line is not to create that ‘no-makeup’ look, but instead, a more polished finish. Kind of like professional meets beachy. I can run with that.
First up was the NatureLuxe Silk Foundation. It’s a liquid base infused with cucumber, jojoba and rosehip designed to feel lightweight and fresh. After applying, I’d have to say that I agree, the foundation went on smoothly and was light to the touch. The coverage wasn’t as quite as solid as I expected, there were a few imperfections peeking through, but the SPF 10 coverage was definitely an added bonus. Everyone could use more protection from the sun. The smell is delightful too, not overly strong, but fresh and sweet.
And then…the NatureLuxe Gloss Balm…wow. Now here’s lip product I will definitely be adding to my makeup bag. The balm contains a lightweight blend of mango, Shea and other natural butters along with providing SPF 15 coverage. The color (I tried Muscat) is slightly sheer and goes on smoothly. Best of all…there wasn’t any of the stickiness that can sometimes accompany certain glosses. It feels like I applied lip balm, but has the appearance of gloss! I did notice that I had to reapply every two hours or so, but again, feeling as though I was applying lip balm didn’t make this seem tedious.
Overall I liked both products and loved that they were made with natural ingredients! And you can’t beat the price: the foundation is $11.99 and the gloss balm is only $6.99. Luxurious and affordable!
I was provided with a NatureLuxe foundation and a NatureLuxe gloss balm to facilitate my review. I was not compensated financially. As always, all opinions are my own.
