Festive Attire | Fashion Friday

It’s holiday party time! That magical time of year when you have no idea what to wear when invitations arrive with vague suggestions like “holiday attire” or “sunday best” or “festive attire.” What do those even mean?

Surely not this:

{You can actually buy this sweater. I found a ugly christmas sweater store.}
{But please don’t. Unless the invitation tells you to wear an ugly Christmas sweater.}

Today we’re talking about CHIC holiday attire here.

For formal parties, you really can’t go wrong with a classic sheath. Turn up the volume with red or go for a more traditional navy or black. Pair it with heels and you’re good to go!

For semi-formal parties, think work parties or maybe a charity event, you can get away with gorgeous pants and a blouse, a more casual sweater dress or a skirt.

And for a casual open house, you can’t go wrong with nice dark jeans and a fun festive top! Wear heels to dress it up or flats to dress down.

  1. I LOVE the jeans/nude and black top. Seriously, obsessed with it.

    On the other hand, I ran to Wegman’s at lunch earlier this week and saw an older gentleman in a Christmas sweater. I’m hoping that either he lost a bet or was on his way to an event where he was instructed to wear that sweater…
