Trend Watch: Patterned Pants

Wait! Don’t leave!! I agree that this trend is really, really tricky to pull off, but at least give me a chance! This trend is all about moderation.
First, pick a nice pattern. You don’t have to do this:

Go with a subtle pattern in only a few colors if you want to dip your toes in the trend.

Or get a little bolder! Go for a bright or even one with lots of color – just try pair them with solids on top and you’ll be golden and totally on trend!

What do you think? Are you going to try this one or not?

  1. Um, sorry. No. Not a fan. LOL!!!

  2. I agree with Jo-Lynne- NO! I remember when this trend was popular in the early 80′s… been there, done that!

  3. So not a fan! I don’t even like patterned shorts so seeing patterned pants is way too much. Patterned tops and plain bottoms are more of my taste.

  4. While I was hesitant to like the colored denim I am downright scared of this trend LOL :) Honestly, I think it fits only certain people and I really do not think curvy women will look good with bright patterns on their rears. But that is just me :)

  5. I used to have a pair of Esprit pants in small checked pattern, but I outgrew them, literally and figuratively! So I’m not sure I can pull this trend off any more.

But then Ally of Wardrobe Oxygen rocked some floral pants–with leopard, furthermore!–and I admit I wavered a bit: http://www.wardrobeoxygen.com/2012/03/wednesday-leopard-and-floral.html

  6. These are for the young and skinny, loved this style when I was a freshman in college circa 1989.
