It’s not a new pairing, but lately I’ve seen a lot of celebs rocking this white and black look.
I love this Dior dress that Marion Cotillard selected for the Rust and Bone Screening on November 5. The halter neck highlights her toned shoulders, and the black mini dress adds a rocker touch to the elegant white lines of the floor length gown. She wisely kept the accessories simple and complementary.
Leave it to Taylor Swift to make a classic look modern. This Kate Spade colorblock dress she wore promoting her album in Paris gives feminine curves to her athletic figure. The natural waves in her hair and restrained jewelry allow her bold red lips to stand out. It makes sense – the album she’s promoting is called Red.
Last but not least is Olivia Palermo who attended Liverpool’s Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar in a white cowl neck jacket over leather leggings and cobalt blue heels. Admittedly, I wouldn’t myself pair blue accessories with a black and white ensemble, but I feel like Olivia pulls it off. Between the blue pumps, rosy cheeks, and side braid, she brings an element of youthfulness to a sophisticated outfit.
To copy Olivia’s style, pair these Banana Republic black jeggings (unless, of course, you’d prefer to pay $800+ for black leather pants…) with this sequin sweater from Old Navy. Pull on this cozy Ann Taylor cowl neck cropped sweater, and if you’re feeling really brave, add on these Franco Sarto Cicero pumps in blue.
Or for a look similar to Taylor’s, you could spring for this Ann Taylor colorblock dress that perfectly slims the waistline. I love the exposed zipper on the back! Pair it with these Ivanka Trump Pinkish pumps and black tights for a classic black and white style, with a modern twist.
Either of these looks would be perfect for Thanksgiving dinner next week.
Just don’t ask me how to find a dress similar to Marion’s. You’ll have to go straight to the Dior runways for that one. Sorry, Ladies!!
