Try It: Green Eye Shadow

Gone are the days when I thought green eye shadow only complemented hazel eyes. It turns out that green is a universally flattering color, and given the right hue, can be a classy shade for any eye or skin color.

Lately I’ve been wearing a light green eye shadow below the crease, blending above the crease with a shimmery brown. It’s an easy look for daily wear, but several celebs have worn a more dramatic green eye shadow for the red carpet as well.

This apple green shade beautifully complements Taylor Swift’s blue eyes and creamy skin tone.

Jada Pinkett-Smith chose an olive green to bring out her dark brown eyes.

Last but not least, Freida Pinto chose a forest green eye shadow applied just below the crease. Both dramatic and elegant, this is my favorite look. She kept the rest of her makeup minimal, allowing her eyes (and those gorgeous earrings!) to take center stage.

Have you tried it? A little green eye shadow might just be the way to liven up your cosmetic routine this winter.

  1. Green eye shadow makes me think “old school,” but seeing it on these beauties makes me like it a little bit. Great post.
