Yesterday I was looking for a Bloom.com deal and guess what showed up in my inbox from Plum District this morning? Oh yeah, it’s like the beauty product gods were listening.

Plum District brought back the Bloom.com deal today as part of their Best of 2011. Get $50 to spend at Bloom.com for only $25. That’s 50% off! And if you’re a new Plum District member, you’ll get an additional $5 off when you sign up through this link. Also, there is a reported coupon code out {fabulous} that should get you an additional 10% off. Report back if it worked for you or not. This deal expires Saturday 12/31/2011 at midnight EST.

Here’s a little more info about Bloom.com so you know what a great deal this is.

Bloom.com is a social beauty store. They offer top beauty products and once you tell them a bit about yourself, Bloom recommends products for you. I love this feature. It makes choosing the right foundation, moisturizer, mascara etc a lot easier.

Bloom.com also offers gifts with purchase called BloomBonuses. Depending on the amount you spend you could getup to 10 BloomBonus items with your order.

As a Bloom.com member, you earn 10% back in BloomDollars every time you make a purchase. BloomDollars are actual dollars that allow you to choose your own rewards. For example, if you’ve earned $25 BloomDollars, you have $25 to shop with at Bloom.com.

Bloom.com offers a great return policy too. They call it the 365 Try It, Love It Guarantee. If you are unsatisfied with any product purchased from them, simply return it for a full refund, even if the container is empty. Read more details about the guarantee here.

I’m new to Bloom.com but I’ve already planned out my first purchase. I’ve been on the hunt for a new foundation and Bloom recommended Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation so I’m anxious to give it a try as well as the Beauty Blender. Have you heard about this beauty sponge? I have read about it several places and it has fantastic reviews. Now that I can get basically 50% off through the Plum District deal, I think I’ll finally take the plunge!

After a visit to the pediatrician procured a prescription, we ended up with Eucerin Cream in our medicine cabinet.

It took my eczema away, and fast.

These days, Eucerine Cream is available without a prescription, but it’s still just as effective. Winter is quickly approaching, and on the East Coast that means the air loses its moisture. When that happens, it’s crucial to keep your skin well moisturized.

I’m a big fan of Eucerin’s Original Moisturizing Creme. It’s super-thick and a little greasy-looking, so I usually just apply it – anywhere on your body; face, arms, legs, etc. – at night before I go to bed, and it really keeps dry skin at bay when used regularly.

If you’re anything like me, and you skip a day or three of applying your lotion and your skin ends up with splotchy dry patches, Eucerin is also great for healing. Score for us!

You should definitely go pick up a tub of Eucerin Cream – a little goes a long way, and it’s a great staple to keep around the house for kids and grownups alike!

Oh, you guys. I found out some really sad news over the weekend… one of my favorite beauty products has entered the Discontinued phase of its product lifecycle:

RIP, EZ4U 2 Go.

I know, #firstworldproblems, right? But this product really was a gem. Luckily, I did find some stragglers on Amazon and I scooped up a couple more boxes, but still. After my wave of travel this fall, these will be GONE. Forever! SAD PANDA! It got me thinking, though, about all of the other products I’ve loved that apparently nobody else did. So without further ado, welcome to Becky’s Product Graveyard.

1. Aveeno Positively Smooth Shower & Shave Cream.

Ahhh, Aveeno.

This stuff was awesome! I don’t like shaving cream, but this felt more like body wash. Every time I used it, absolutely zero nicks or bumps. I have one last bottle that I’m savoring-slash-hoarding. Although there are still a few bottles left on Amazon, they’re like $8 or something ridiculous like that. Now, I love the stuff as much as the next girl, but I’m not cray-cray.

2. True Blue Spa Fine and Sandy Beach Pedicure. In the interest of full disclosure, I totally forgot that I still had a bottle of this… so I’m a little excited to bust it out again!

Beachy toes! Yes!

This scrub is awesome. It’s a great pre-pedi scrub that sloughs off all the heebie jeebies. Yes, your feet have them too. Don’t lie.

3. Sephora Body Butter. There are still a few various scents left, but my absolute favorite of all time was the Tropical Jasmine. It smelled exactly like the most delicious beach you could ever imagine!

I don’t really love this particular coconut, but it’s the closest I can get to my beloved Tropical Jasmine. Le sigh.

4. Skintimate After-Shave Gel. Does anybody remember that stuff? It was the BEST! I can still hear the commercial: “Skintimate Peaches? Or Raspberry Rain? Skintimate Peaches? Or Raspberry Rain?” (effective advertising, I suppose, if I still remember it 10 years later.) It had a great scent, plus it helped my legs avoid razor burn post-shave. Lost and gone forever.

5. Bath & Body Works Sunburst Melon. Oh Em Gee, you guys. This scent was discontinued in like 1993 and I am STILL upset about it. It was the product that hooked me, and then it went away. Poof! Just like that.

So that’s my Top 5 (well… technically, Top 6). What are your beauty favorites that have hit the Product Graveyard? Conversely, what products do you use now that will make you hoard them once you hear about their retirement? Tell me in the comments!

It is supposed to smooth away the dry, rough bumps, erase those little pink polka dots (so attractive) and leave skin hydrated.

Keratosis Pilaris (KP) is a common skin disorder, typified by “chicken skin” bumps on upper arms, thighs, torso, buttocks and occasionally the cheeks. Excess skin forms around individual hair follicles, creating the characteristic minute, rough, grater-like bumps.

KP Duty incorporates medically proven technology including ingredients for hydrated and healthy skin. Medically potent levels of Glycolic Acid blends with Urea, the dermatologist recommended humectant, to soften and smooth away the driest roughest skin.

Keratosis Pilaris affects almost 50% of the world’s population and is particularly likely to affect anyone prone to eczema, asthma or hayfever. It’s never a chore to attain flawless, smooth skin. KP Duty effectively eliminates crustiness, flaking, and dry, rough chicken skin.

I’ve shied away from this sale for the past few years, because I found myself in serious smelly lotion overload.

I mean, it was GOOD smelly. But still. I don’t need 10 different scents taunting me each morning.

ANYWAY. I stopped in over the weekend to stock up on some more hand soap (which, by the way, they have lots of yummy scents for $2.50 and lots MORE for just $1.75. That’s my kind of sale!). On my way to the soap bin, I passed a pretty yellow bottle. What could THAT be, I thought?

Bath and Body Works Lemon Vanilla. Image from Amazon.com, but I'm willing to bet it was originally lifted from BathandBodyWorks.com. JUST A GUESS.

It’s Bath and Body Works Lemon Vanilla, and it is AWESOME. I sniffed it out, expecting to find something akin to lemon Pledge, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s sweet without smelling like a box of Fruity Pebbles, a little musky without smelling like a granny… I picked up a lotion, body wash and fragrance mist for under $10. I can smell it all day long (but not like WOAH), so the layering seems to be a good trick. HIGHLY recommend.

This particular scent isn’t available online, but be sure to check out your local store to see if they have it. Look for the 75% off signs, and have fun!

I am a recovering Bath and Body Works addict, and this selection may have been my gateway back into the dark side. Thanks a lot, Lemon Vanilla.

A friend recently introduced me to a fantastic trick to get incredibly smooth, touchable legs.

Shower as normal, then turn off the water.

Use your favorite sugar scrub on your legs. I used the one below, from Bath & Body Works.

It’s SUPER IMPORTANT that you don’t use a salt scrub. It’ll burn like crazy – bad idea!

Anyway, rub the scrub into your skin until it dissolves almost all the way.

And then, before you rinse, shave your legs. Don’t add shave cream or foam or anything else – just shave the scrub off your legs.

My legs have never been this soft!

I go to an Aveda Salon for my hair care, and the smell of the place is always amazing. There is a mix of oils, candles burning, and yummy shampoos and conditioners in the air.

Yesterday, I had a new stylist, as I was one of those bad clients who called last minute and desperately begged for any appointment they could squeeze me into. Turns out it was a great move because she started my appointment with a head massage. To. Die. For.

Not only was it a welcome surprise, but the oil that the stylist used was the greatest smell ever, which obviously is saying something at this place.

Of course I asked about it, and lucky me, they carried it in body spray form. (Shocking right?)

It’s called the Chakra Line, and each scent is unique but similarly earthy with natural with oils like Patchouli and Sandalwood. I adored each one, but I chose Chakra #1-Grounded to take home. On their website, Aveda says it is meant to work on my first Chakra, which according to them, “is the center where we ground ourselves and take care of our basic needs. When the root chakra is balanced, one has good energy, a feeling of security and a healthy body awareness.”

I’m hoping it does just that, but if not, at least I know I will smell fantastic.

A few months ago I was introduced to Therapon Skin Health, and I was immediately drawn in by their story:

As a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. James Beckman, founder of Therapon Skin Health, treated several burn patients in his practice. These patients often required skin grafts to repair the damaged skin. Grafted skin does not contain the oil glands needed to keep the skin supple. While this may not sound like a big deal to the average person, it certainly does to someone who has lost complete mobility of their hands because they are not able to open and close them due to brittle skin! Dr. Beckman began researching a solution for his patients… [Read More]

In a nutshell, his solution for his burn patients had an unexpected side effect. It also seemed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. That is when Therapon’s skin care system was created.

This is a pharmaceutical grade skin care system, and everyone I know who uses it raves about it. I’ve been writing for Therapon’s blog for several months now, and when I was at Blissdom, I was able to meet many of the other contributors. I can honestly say their skin looks great. And now, Therapon wants to share their products with YOU!

As Jo-Lynne mentioned in her post on Friday, this cooler weather is already making my skin dry up.

Thanks to the wonders of daylight savings time… I woke up at 4 am today with itchy dry skin. Ugh.

For my money, there is only 1 product that I really know and trust will get the job done to stop the winter itchies.

I discovered Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream when my nieces were infants with super-sensitive skin – but this product has become a staple in my product cabinet.

It comes out of the tub super-thick but rubs into skin like it’s a light lotion. It doesn’t leave my skin greasy in the slightest but honestly moisturizes all day long.

It has a price tag of around $12 depending on where you look (but I usually can find it on sale and then search the internet for a coupon). And honestly? It’s worth way more than $12 and will last quite a long time.

I’m always on the hunt for good shower moisturizers and washes this time of year… but year after year, Cetaphil Cream is a must-have to stop my winter itchy skin.

Is it cold where you live yet? What do you swear by to cure winter skin??

(And even though it might sound like it… Cetaphil did NOT pay me to say this. I said it for free. Although, for the record, I would gladly accept a lifetime supply for my ringing endorsement.)
