In the fall, I started noticing “denim” popping up in all kinds of unexpected places. On footwear, in shirts (and not the ugly denim tuxedo kind!), in skirts, on pillows — and beyond.
And then I became educated (fashionably late) on what everybody else knows as chambray.
Let’s just think of it as denim’s softer, more lightweight twin.
Banana Republic’s Chambray Button-Up Shirt is would be perfect with crisp white jeans.
Gap’s Rhinestone Chambray Flats would pair nicely with even the brightest spring dresses.
On the other hand, The Limited’s 2-in-1 Dress dresses up the trend.
And Old Navy’s shorts look cute even to me — and I hate most shorts.
But my favorite chambray find to date is this dress from Target. I saw it in store and liked it but passed it by – but when I saw it was sold out on Target.com and had positive reviews, I had to run back out and get it.
I see many endless possibilities for accessorizing in the future…. I can’t wait to wear it with a red belt for the Fourth of July.
I’m thinking chambray might be my fabric of choice for summer…. right after jersey dresses, of course.
Love that dress on you – and amazing how much better it looks with that belt too! Can’t wait to see how it looks with a red belt for 4th of July 🙂
Sarah, that dress is SO CUTE on you!! Love it. Great finds!
