How to Wear a Belted Cardigan

Belted cardigans are all the rage. Have you tried this trend yet? Please do. You’ll be amazed how it will totally pull your look together!

A few tips:

1. Fit. Fit. FIT. Fit is KEY to pulling this off. Make sure our cardigan is long enough – you don’t want the belt only an inch or two over the bottom of your cardigan. Wear a boyfriend cardigan or one that hits at your hips for the most flattering silhouette.

2. Make sure that your belt isn’t too tight either. It’s not meant to suck in your waistline – that just looks awkward and uncomfortable and is never flattering. You want your belt to be laying flat on your body, maybe even a smidge loose.

3. Wear a thin, colored belt to be right on trend. Go with color for your cardigan, too.

What do you think? Are you wearing this trend this spring?

  1. I have tried it once and I actually wore a wide belt. I think a wide belt works better with my body type. But I do have a skinny belt that I want to wear more, so I might look for a cardigan that will work for it.

I am so glad you posted this. I am trying to organize my spring wardrobe and I need help. I’m just looking for some simple, easy choices. I usually don’t have much time to think about it in the morning before carpool. But this is a preepy fun look I’ve wanted to try. Thanks!

  3. Love the look, especially with bright cardies out for spring!
