Isagenix has been an easy way to shed pounds for me. The Shake Days are a piece of cake – but let’s be real – Cleanse Days are hard. Especially as a mom, who still has to feed her family, they can be a real struggle. But they really are key to optimal fat and weight loss, not to mention health. Don’t just think of a Cleamse Day as “Not Eating.” Instead, think of it as a structured part of your weight loss routine.
But over time, I’ve found a few tips to really help it be as painless as possible.
1.) Follow a schedule. The best way to avoid these temptations is to set a schedule. (See Page 4 of the 30-Day Cleansing and Fat Burning System guide for an example.) It should outline your plan for the entire day including when to drink Cleanse for Life or enjoy Isagenix Snacks! or an IsaDelight. Be sure to schedule in drinking water, green tea and activities to help keep your energy up.
2.) Personalize your cleanse. There’s more than one way to cleanse! I prefer drinking my Cleanse for Life drink warm (like a tea) in the morning, but often have it cold or add ice to make a slushy in the afternoon. Maybe you need to start the day with IsaSnacks or save an extra IsaDelight to curb an afternoon craving… find what works for you.
3.) Get sleep. Because you are consuming fewer calories on a Cleanse Day, it’s possible to feel tired come late afternoon. Take it easy and go to bed early. Sleep is not only a time for your body to rest, but also a time to rebuild and restore. Make a point to give your body the rest it needs to truly benefit from cleansing and get extra sleep.
4.) Drink water. Keeping the body hydrated ais key to overall health, especially when it comes to flushing out impurities. Shoot for 8 to 10 glass of water not only on Cleanse Days, but every day. Mix it up! Enjoy green tea (hot or iced), infuse your water with lemon and mint, sip seltzer… mixing up those 8 to 10 glasses will make them seem less intimidating.
5.) Keep exercise light. Although high-intensity exercise is not recommended on Cleanse Days, engaging in light physical activity such as walking or yoga may have some fat burning benefits. These low-intensity forms of exercise are less likely to induce high amounts of stress on the body and can increase calorie expenditure. Personally, I exercise early in the morning, so I can sneak in a workout on a Cleanse Day pretty easily. But don’t push it – I tend towards pilates or yoga, as opposed to anything high intensity.
4.) Have an IsaLean shake for your first meal after a Cleanse Day. After giving your body time to rest and detoxify, it craves balanced nutrition, especially the high-quality protein found in IsaLean Shakes. Together, Cleanse Days and Shakes Days help fuel fat loss while maintaining muscle mass—a sure-fire way to not only lose weight, but to also maintain weight loss.
The most important thing to remember is that there are many ways to be successful on Cleanse Days—it just takes finding the ways and habits that work for you. You’ll get the hang of it and before you know it, weight loss goals will be all but a memory, and you’ll be happily maintaining your weight and health.
