Get Holiday Ready!

I’ll admit it – I LOVE HOLIDAY PARTIES! I know they can be boring or crazy or cheesy (ugly sweaters, anyone?) or everything in between. No matter when or where, I love getting together in person with all the folks in my life – even during this crazy busy season!

Of course, part of the fun is getting ready to go out! As a work-at-home mom, my days generally don’t call for much primping. So when I get the chance, I love to get dressed up. But during the winter, it’s hard to fight the static-y hat hair and dry skin that plagues everyone living in Philadelphia!  So many of the parties we are invited to are in the city, so that involves finding parking, then walking through the streets in the cold and wind. So trying to find an outfit that is cute, but warm is an added challenge!

Here are a few of our tips for getting the bang for your buck when getting ready for a night on the town! Pour yourself a pre-party glass of wine and enjoy the process!

Holiday Ready with ATC

  1. Start in the shower – Your night out look starts in the shower! Prep your hair for major volume with and Conditioner. Pantene’s silicon-free formulation gently cleans fine hair to remove build-up that works against body and lift! Remember, your blowout needs to have the right base to look amazing and this product is designed to deliver weightless body that lasts for up to 24h! I also use to make sure my skin in silky smooth. Did you know that each bottle contains more than a jar of Olay moisturizers to help quench thirsty skin???
  2. Moisturize Immediately – Put your lotion on as soon as you get out of the shower – when your skin is still nice and warm and slightly damp. It will help your pores absorb all that great moisture! During winter, I love . It moisturizes, while not being so greasy that my make up just slides off! Plus, its formulated with Olay SolaSheer technology so it nourishes your skin while protecting against both UVB and UVA rays!
  3. Blowout with Volume – I have a secret formula to a great blowout. First I prep my hair with Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Mousse. Rub this into your roots before you blow dry and you’ll be amazed at how much thicker your hair looks! I blow-dry with a round brush, while bending over, so my hair has tons of volume.  I touch up lightly with a flat iron and then finish with . It has great hold, but is so light that it helps prevent winter flat hair.  I love this collection because it allows me to keep my style looking natural, but full of bounce and volume!
  4. Paint that sticks – Start with a , then play up your eyes with and layer on some Lash Blast Mascara! LashBlast is great for festive soirees because it transforms quiet lashes into a thick, full dramatic array of lashes with zero clumps! For a party, I go for a lip stain instead of a lipstick. Then you’re lip color stays on your lips instead of being left on your wine glass is amazing – it will stay on all night long!
  5. Dress for the weather – If you’re going to be walking around the city, dress for it! Philly can be frigid when the wind blows! If you’re going with a dress or skirt, tights and booties are your friends! Or dress up a great pair of jeans with a sequined or embellished top.
  6. ENJOY! After a little primping, you’ll feel like a million bucks! My normally flat hair is bouncy and my normally naked face is made up! Better go out and enjoy every minute!
