Shorts are showing up everywhere this season – even the red carpet! The Dressy Short is a trend that is hanging around… so I decided to give it a try!
Dressy shorts need to be short, in order to keep from looking matronly, and pair them with heels or wedges. My shorts are from Old Navy: I could not resist the polka dots!
I paired them with a blazer I picked up on consignment for only $10.
What do you think? I can’t decide if I like this outfit or not.

I think the shorts would work better with a more casual outfit. I love all of the pieces individually – just not as much together. I think the blazer screams “PROFESSIONAL!” while the shorts say, “Eh, not so much. We’re just cute.”
So, all of that to say: I’d probably go with a white (embellished, of course) tank or tee with the shorts. Save the blazer (which looks great on you) for a cute mini or jeans.

I like the shorts and the blazer, but not together. I don’t like those wedges with the shorts either.
Yeah – those shoes did not work. I was trying to work with my closet.. guess i need to go shoe shopping! DARN
