Last spring I was introduced to a line of products by Seriesse International called A Essentials 30+. This product line contains retinol (think Retin-A) — one of the most well-known and respected ingredients for fighting fine lines and aging.
I remember when I first heard of Retin-A. I was a pimply high-school student, and my dermatologist prescribed Retin-A for my acne. It worked back then on my pimples, and ironically Retin-A is also a great weapon to have in the anti-aging arsenal that is growing in my bathroom drawer.
The A Essentials product line is geared to the 30-something woman and supposedly helps reduce fine lines and also may delay the formation of premature wrinkles. Sounds great, right? Well, I was skeptical, as I often am when a new product promises miraculous results. Or maybe the reason I’m often disappointed is because I’m expecting miraculous results. Hmmm…
I wasn’t prepared to invest in the whole line of products, so I purchased the Intensive Treatment Serum and the Moisture Treatment Cream, both enriched with Retinol, Retinyl Palmitate, Triple Peptides and NVesse-24™.

I started using them right away, after cleansing and toning with my favorite Lancome products, and I’ve been using them for several months. My initial impression was that they left my skin feeling a bit sticky, whereas I prefer products that leave my skin feeling soft and smooth. The scent also wasn’t entirely pleasant, but nothing that would prevent me from using it.
Over the past few months, I’ve gotten past the scent and the sticky factor. I have been putting off writing a review because I believe it takes a few months for face creams to show results.
I have observed that my pores are looking better, and my skin seems to have a healthy glow that it had lost last fall when I started getting serious about skincare. As for fine lines, either they are decreasing slightly or I’m just getting used to looking at this old mug. But I can honestly say that I am pleased with the way my skin looks right now, and last fall I was about to find the nearest face lift.
I can’t swear the improvement is all due to the Seriesse, as I’ve also been exfoliating regularly and using a masque for deep cleansing from time to time. I certainly wouldn’t claim miraculous results. But I am pleased with how my skin looks, and I feel that the products are priced reasonably. I’d certainly purchase them again.
Seriesse products are sold by independent consultants, and for the record, I am receiving no benefits from writing this review.
