True confessions — I’m a self tanner junkie. I live my my self tanner in the summer months, and I can never resist trying a new one. Transform by XEN-TAN boasts an innovative time-released formula.

Transform is easy to use. Simply apply formula in a circular motion, blending evenly over body and/or face. Wash hands with soap and water after use. For best results, wait three hours before showering or swimming. Use daily to maintain the deep, even color you achieve on day one!
I love the way Transform smells. It is the first self tanner I’ve ever used that doesn’t stink. It has a light citrusy scent that virtually disappears after about an hour. It doesn’t achieve color as quickly as some self tanners I’ve used, but it is nice in that it’s very gradual and you can adjust the depth of color depending on how often you apply. The tan is natural looking and if you’re careful around your ankles and feet, it doesn’t leave that nasty orange sludge.
For experimentation purposes, I applied Transform on my left leg only for several days in a row. I was going to take a picture of my two legs side by side so you can see the difference, but when I went for the photo shoot, I discovered my camera’s battery had died. Now the tan has faded because it’s been a few days since I applied it. It’s hard to get motivated to self tan when it’s 40 degrees outside and raining. BLERGH.
What I like about it is that it wears off without getting all mottled looking. At $20 for 6 ounces, it’s comparable with higher end tanning products. Transform can be purchased at Nordstrom.
