Experiencing Ralph Lauren at BlogHer 10

By far one of the highlights of BlogHer for me was attending the fabulous Ralph Lauren party held in the absolutely breathtaking Ralph Lauren Reading Room. I met some fabulous new friends, talked fashion to my heart's content and even was honored to meet David Lauren, Ralph Lauren's son and Senior Vice President of Advertising, Marketing and Corporate Communications.

At this fabulous party, we learned all about Ralph Lauren's new children's story book, "The RL Gang"
that is actually an amazing virtual shopping experience. The book
exists in print and digital format allowing children to click through
the story of some adorable schoolmates as they head back to school, decked out in Ralph Lauren's fabulous fall line.  This
beautiful book not only has a cute story kids will love, but it
also provides a beautiful advertorial for Ralph Lauren's
children's clothes (a concept called "merchantainment" by Mr. Lauren). The RL Gang book will
be available August 18th on RalphLauren.com and Bloomingdales.com. For the first month after its release, 15% of the proceeds  from "The RL Gang" will go to the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in New Orleans' Musician's Village, a charity close to the book's narrator, Harry Connick Jr.'s heart.

Now on to the fun part: the clothes. The fall childrenswear line is super adorable. I love Ralph Lauren's designs for kids – they're one of the few designers who can take classic 'adult' clothes and make them totally kid friendly. I never have to worry about my kids Ralph Lauren clothing being inappropriate or making them look like they belong in a music video (You moms know what I'm talking about.) I mean, look at the sweater vest this cutie is wearing (Seriously, sweater vests are probably one of my favorite things about having a son!):

And those hats! And that little kilt and pink doggie sweater!! I was practically melting from the cuteness.

The other reason my normally very thrifty self splurges on Ralph Lauren clothes is that they are so well-made and durable. David Lauren was talking about how the Ralph Lauren Childrenswear line was launched when his dad saw how poorly made most children's clothing is. The pieces I have from Ralph Lauren have gone through both my girls and my three nieces… and are still being handed down and worn by others. Talk about getting your money's worth!

Anyway, I can't spill all the details yet, but let's just say I will have lots more amazing clothes to share very soon!! (Like maybe something like this little number for Mama! You're welcome!)

I didn't take a single picture – I was just soaking in the amazing atmosphere and company! Images courtesy of Mom Central who co-hosted this fabulous party with Ralph Lauren.

disclosure: I attended an event sponsored by Ralph Lauren and Mom Central and received Ralph Lauren products as a thank you.
