Ann Taylor focus on REAL women for Fashion Week

If you know me or have read my blogs at all, you know that Ann Taylor is one of my very favorite stores.

I was excited to see Ann Taylor take a daring approach during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, dressing the company’s employees for a “See Now, Wear Now” fashion show at their flag ship store on Madison Avenue.  The styles seen on the runway included those for Fall and Holiday 2010 rather than Spring 2011, the standard for Fashion Week exhibitions.

I was seeing shots and tweets from the Ann Taylor event all evening and it looked just fabulous! I'm a huge fan of Ann's classic take on trends and their clothes are such high quality – I could easily shop there exclusively for an entire year and probably not miss out on a thing!

(sidebar: I totally love that Naomi Watts – a completely gorgeous and a working mom – is modeling for them. Every ad I've seen with her is amazing.)

And as for the clothes, I love how Ann Taylor takes high fashion and makes it accessable for real women. You might think that the military trend is hard for you to pull off, but check this out:

Love this. Its trendy – but not too trendy – and is such a fabulously feminine take on this look that could be worn by pretty much anyone.

At Ann Taylor's Fashion Week event, I was so impressed to see that instead of exhibiting the latest fashions on models, Ann Taylor continued their commitment of real fashion for real women by modeling the designs on female employees. I LOVE THIS. This is proof that Ann Taylor is designing with their real customers in mind!
