I have two daughters with blond hair, and between the sun and the chlorine, the summer always wrecks havoc on their delicate tresses. And to top it off, my one daughter has long wavy hair that does nothing but snarl.
I’ve tried many products over the years to try and subdue the tangles and make combing her hair an act of love, not abuse, so when I heard about Luster TONIC I knew I had to try it.
Here’s what they say about it:
During the warmer months, strong UV rays from the sun coupled with saltwater and wind can damage hair, causing dry, split ends and faded color – but that shouldn’t stop you from going to the beach. Luster Tonic is a leave-in conditioning mist with powerful UV-inhibitors and natural botanical oils designed to protect hair from the damaging effects of sun, salt, wind and chlorine. Tonic’s unique cream-to-mist technology also doubles as a luxurious moisturizer that re-hydrates the skin. It contains aloe vera, grape seed oil and wheat protein, for added volume to hair and protection from nature’s harsh elements. Luster Tonic is the answer to split ends, breakage and dry, tangled hair in the summer months. Retail Cost: $14.
A couple months ago, I received a full sized sample to try, and I immediately began using it on both of my daughters’ hair.
First I tried it on my older daughter, the one who is cursed blessed with curly hair. It goes on as a light mist, and it smells divine. I use five or six squirts and then comb through. I’ve used a lot of products, and this one combs through easier than anything else I’ve laid my hands on. It leaves her hair silky and shiny, and even when I put her to bed with a wet head, it’s easy to comb out the next morning. I’m SOLD. I’ve been using it ever since.
I also use it on my younger daughter. Her hair is fine and thin and straight as a board. The Luster TONIC does wonders for her hair too. It doesn’t weight it down as many leave-in conditioners do.
Both girls use it regularly. I even use it on mine if I don’t want to take the time to let conditioner soak in when I’m in the shower. It’s great stuff.
At the end of the summer, I took both girls to get their hair trimmed before school started, and my older daughter, the one with the long hair, didn’t have nearly as much damage as she usually does when we do her end-of-summer trim. I have to believe that’s due to the Luster TONIC.
I’ve been using it for 3 months, and there is still at least half the bottle left. In my opinion, that is $14 well spent.
Disclosure: KMR Communications sent me an 8 oz. sample of Luster TONIC to facilitate this review. All experiences and opinions expressed in this post are purely my own.
