- Know what you need
Go through your closet before you go through the mall. What do you need to go with that skirt? What needs repairing or replacing? Don't go buy things you don't need! - Dress appropriately
Something that is easy to try things on with: a dress you can change quickly, simple leggings and a cardigan, wear flats, but tuck heels in your purse. Wear seamless panties and a strapless bra. - Time it right
Know when your favorite stores mark things down, check online sites to look for coupons and sales and shop early in the day for better markdowns. My trick to my favorite store (LOFT) is to head to the one in a shopping center, not the one in the mall. The clearance and sale racks are much better stocked than the store at the mall! - Remember the sales
Use your smart phone to remind you of sales and to use those reward coupons. It is so irritating to get the store only to find out the sale is over and your coupon expired yesterday! Keep coupons and gift cards in your car or purse so you don't forget to use them. - Shop for real life
Don't buy clothes you're not going to wear. Its okay to splurge for a special occasion, but don't keep buying things for "when you go out" when you only actually go out once a quarter. If you wear jeans 6 days out of 7, you shouldn't be buying tons of dresses!
