Trend Alert: Ikat

Ikat, the modern tie-dye pattern, has been taking the home decor world by storm.  Between pillows, accent chairs and curtains, this Indonesian dying process brings color and depth to households everywhere.

And lucky for the fashion world, designers have begun incorporating it into their fabrics resulting in bright, colorful designs that really make a statement!

Between shirts, skirts, swimsuits, dresses and accessories, the options are endless!  And not all ikat inspired designs have to break your piggy bank, some of my favorite stores have affordable pieces that I’m dying to add to my collection.

Such as this light, springy blouse and large-patterned ikat skirt, both from F21 for under $20!  Or this pool blue ikat swim bikini from Express that I’ve been coveting for summer.  I’ve also considered trying the pattern out in a sundress, or a maxidress like this one from Macy’s, on sale for $24.99.  And of course, accessories are a great option if you’re pattern shy, just toss an ikat scarf over a plain tee.

What about you, ready to give ikat a try in your wardrobe?
