There is nothing I love more than buying a product whose proceeds go toward a valuable organization. We all know there are dozens of pink items available everywhere that help support various breast cancer causes, but I wanted to share another that does just as much good and is super cute too. I mean, a girl’s gotta remember her style right?
The agate bracelet above is from Lin’s Linens. Lin’s Linens is a local New Jersey organization that helps woman going through cancer treatment. Liz, the company president, is an interior designer whose mission, after her sister was diagnosed with cancer, became to bring peace and serenity into the homes of women fighting for their lives. You can read more about Liz and her incredible organization here. They were featured on the NBC nightly news segment Making a Difference as well.
The bracelets are adorable and perfect for the laid back summer style. The website explains they chose agates because “Their meaning and power closely link to the company’s core values. Agates are stable and grounding and can bring about balance — emotionally, physically and intellectually. They are stones of great strength but work slowly over time to calm and soothe, gently facilitating acceptance of oneself.”
The bracelets retail for $30 with a $3 shipping fee. Most of your cost for the bracelet goes to help support the work of Lin’s Linens. Now, I know there are thousands of readers from all over the country who come to this site. You may wonder why I’m sharing a local NJ company. Other than the bracelet fitting into the All Things Chic definition of stylish and cool, I also wanted to highlight this incredible organization. As someone who has been directly affected by cancer and has wondered more than once, what I could do, I think Lin’s Linens is an incredible idea and wanted to share it with the world. It also seems to be a great reminder that no matter where you live, you can do double duty with your fashion budget. Check these bracelets out, or do a little Googling and find your own charity to support. I can almost promise they have an item you’d love to wear, cook with or use at home. However it turns out, wear your style with pride because you have done a good thing in addition to being chic.
