To me the beginning of October has always meant getting to wear boots and picking out this year’s Halloween costume.
Oh, and eating candy corn. Too much candy corn.
But other than nursing a tummyache, October is for raising awareness about disease that affects 1 in 8 women across the US. Chances are you know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, and until the cure is found, more and more women will suffer.
In 1996 Lee Jeans decided to join the effort to finding a cure, but implementing Lee National Denim Day. The concept was simple – Lee Jeans invited companies to go casual for a cause. Employees could wear denim on National Denim Day in exchange for a contribution to the fight against breast cancer. Over the past 15 years Lee Jeans has raised more than $83 million dollars for breast cancer treatment and cure research. An amazing feat that we want to keep going!
All Things Chic is joining up with Lee Denim for the cause and would like to invite you to participate in this year’s National Denim Day on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7TH!
Even if your company isn’t participating, or if you work from home, pledge to contribute what you would spend on a pair of jeans, on a morning latte, on a magazine. Every bit helps us find the cure!
Join All Things Chic on our team page and place the participant badge on your blog to spread the word! Contributions are accepted starting today through October 7th.
