Swimsuit Shopping Tips
Swimsuit shopping online does not have to be a nightmare if you are prepared. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Do not go by last years sizing, take new bust and hip measurements.
- Do not assume all online retailers have the same sizing. Read each shop’s sizing information.
- If you have an hourglass figure you can pretty go with any style but if your bust is greater than your hips or your hips are greater than your bust than separates are a better option to ensure a proper fit.
- Pick a style for the activity you will be wearing it for. If you are in and out of the water a lot and are quite active on the beach then a strapless or halter style is probably not the best choice.
- If you are going on vacation then two suits are better than one. Pack them in separate luggage so if one bag gets lost you have another. Make sure they are two different styles: one for lounging on beach (or by pool) and one for activities.
- Cover-ups tend to last longer than swimwear so buy neutral tones that will go with many bathing suit styles and colors.
- Take into account shipping costs when budgeting for your swimwear purchase. Some shops offer free shipping while costs could be higher elsewhere or if ordering outside the country.
