Really Chic Sun Safety: Hat Attack

A writer friend of mine, Monique, recently invited me to an event in honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month (May). Now, while many months and weeks have names and focuses these days (did you know that last week was National Princess Week? Hello!), this happens to be one I think we should truly pay attention to. Skin cancer is scarily the most common form of cancer in our society and what makes this statistic even worse is the fact that there are simple things we can do to seriously decrease our chances of developing it.

This is the one I selected; it retails for $96.

In honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, a company called Hat Attack has put out an entire line of SPF protecting hats and are offering 20% of proceeds during the month of May to the Skin Cancer Foundation. There are seven styles in this cool capsule collection featuring some of fashion’s hottest trends right now from neons to patterns and pastels. Each hat has been tested and rated by the International UV Testing Laboratory and is UV Classified as Excellent UV Protection with a UPF rating of 40-50+ and blocks 97.5 – 98% of the sun’s harmful UVB rays. Not too bad for something you’re going to look cute wearing!

For the sake of your skin, head over to hatattack.com today and scope out these reasonably priced, potentially life-saving, super-cute hats.
