Plus Size on the Rise

On the Plus Side with Moe

The internet has truly opened up many doors for plus size shopping allowing companies to extend their reach and increase their customer base. It has also allowed people like us to shop in stores that were totally inaccessible to us.

The biggest competitors are stores, like Lane Bryant, Torrid, Avenue, etc., have been online for some time but there are always new faces worth your time both for what they offer for fashion choices and quality. Because these stores are more of a boutique brand they generally have a smaller selection of pieces that they release new styles strategically throughout the year and the price point tends to be higher — for some shoppers these would be investment pieces — the go to base or specialty pieces.

Here are two online stores that first come to mind for you to keep an eye on:

Queen Grace

This company debuted in 2011 and offers a high fashion sense of style without completely emptying your wallet. They offer about forty items to choose from — tops start at the $50 range while dresses come close or go over $100. The style is fresh, flirty, and feminine. Queen Grace dresses curves size 12 to 26.

Eloquii

This company is owned by The Limited which does have stores throughout the US. Last year they launched this full-figured line to round out their clientele. They have more of an everyday collection as well as some evening wear. While this company has similar boutique pricing they often have promotions for 40% off — something worth signing up to their newsletter for advance notice. Eloquii has a classic meets trendy feel and they dress curves sizes 14 to 24.
