We all know sunscreen is important. But if you are like me and have a tendency to breakout easily, its tempting to skip – unfortunately the number one step for healthy skin ins also one of the number one causes of breakouts!
Luckily, many skincare brands have invented lightweight formulas that are much less likely to cause breakouts and irritations. To keep breakouts away, choose a sunscreen targeted for the face. Look for labels that read non-comediogenic (meaning it won’t clog pores) and oil-free. A few of our family’s favorites?

Ulta Sun Faces Clear Complexion Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 ($9.99) This light, clean and oil free formula is water-resistant and perfect for acne-prone faces and chests.
Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 ($14.99) With both UVA and UVB protection, Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 works triple duty– it provides SPF, moisturizes, and gives great coverage to even out your skin. No matter what sunscreen you buy, reapply after a couple of hours in the sun, and always wash it off at night!
California Baby Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+ ($19.99) For super sensitive skin, baby sunscreens are perfect. We love this all natural sunscreen for our kids and it doesn’t irritate my skin at all.
Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturizer with SPF 30 ($13.59) Dermatologist recommended, Cetaphil has this fabulous oil control moisturizer with SPF 30. Its light and goes on smooth under your make up, but offers real protection without oil!
Neutrogena’s Clear Face Break-Out Free ($10.49) This sunscreen feels more like a moisturizer than a sunscreen, and absorbs quickly without leaving greasy residue. I wear it under my makeup like a primer. It works great and doesn’t irritate even my daughter’s very sensitive skin.
