Tips for Surviving a Warehouse Sale

Warehouse sales are AWESOMELY EPIC. I’ve been to a couple and they are always an adventure. And totally worth the crazy, in my opinion! I’ve scored amazing deals – like the most amazing deals ever EVER – and had great war stories to share on top of it!

TIPS TO CONQUER A WAREHOUSE SALE

1. Get there early. If you’re obsessed with this brand, get in line before the sale opens. People line up 3-4 hours early for brands like Lilly Pulitzer and Lululemon! Check into working the sale as an option as well. I had friends who volunteered to work at the Boden warehouse sale on a Saturday… well, Friday night, the volunteers got 2 hours to get first dibs on everything! If you’re really planning to go nuts, the time volunteering could be worth it for you. Look into it!

2. They often restock throughout the day. Most coveted items tend to go quickly, but things are often replenished. (So no worries if you can’t get there first thing!)

3. Check before you bring a big bag. They’re not allowed inside the sale. “You can check things at the front with members of the staff, but there is a fee attached.”

4. They will often restock throughout the day, but you still want to  get there before noon on the first day to find the good stuff!

5. Avoid the changing room. They’re often communal or have really long lines. Wear leggings and a tank or something underneath your clothes and just try things on over.  **Keep in mind as you shop, that near the changing room is a gold mine of discarded items.

6. Bring a buddy: with all the pressure of the craziness – plus no returns –  you will want someone to give you a second opinion.
