ATC on Location: Disneyland Hotel

The Disneyland Hotel may possibly be our favorite Disney hotel! We stayed here a few weeks ago during the Disney Social Media Moms conference and it blew us away!

Disneyland Hotel is the original hotel at the Disneyland Resort. It has a well-deserved AAA four-diamond rating. It’s a modern, luxury hotel  – and while its not themed – it is filled with Disney design touches, with its three towers representing Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Frontierland. Its the perfectly Disneyfied luxury resort!

In terms of rooms, all of Disneyland Hotel rooms were recently refurbished, and they look terrific. From the thick carpets to textured wallpaper to the bedding, the rooms at Disneyland Hotel are just fabulously luxurious. We loved the touches of Disney everywhere, with photos of Walt Disney and early-era Disneyland all over.  There’s also a strong Mickey Mouse motif throughout the rooms, with Mickey accents and details here and there.

The rooms in Disneyland Hotel are not huge, but they are plenty big for our family of five. They really won us over with being able to sleep 5 comfortably. Our room had two beds and a couch that turned into a twin bed.  Lots of storage and floor space and we were able to relax without being on top of each other.  Rooms do not have balconies, which would have been nice with the gorgeous California weather!

Disneyland Hotel has a variety of amenities, and services. Most obvious is the amazing pool! Disneyland Hotel has the E-Ticket pool and D-Ticket pool, in the middle of the hotel’s inner courtyard, both of which are nice. The monorail waterslides are fantastic for kids and the overall size and layout of these pools is just perfect. Cabanas are available for  rent and there’s a great food options – there’s food and beverage service at the pools from Trader Sam’s – Enchanted Tiki Bar and Tangaroa Terrace.  Along with those restaurants, Disneyland Hotel is also home to Steakhouse 55 – worth the trip for sure!

Overall, we were very impressed with the service (or course, it’s Disney!) and the location of the hotel (Right outside Downtown Disney, steps from monorail and about 5-10 minute walk to the parks).  For our family of 5, Disneyland Hotel offers a great value as we can all fit in one room!  You will pay a premium to be at a Disney Resort, as opposed to the numerous Good Neighbor Hotels at the Disneyland Resort, but we found this one worth the upgrade.

We will definitely stay here again!!
