Grace {Blackbelt Oma}

Grace was born in Korea to a fashionista tiger mom.  She practiced the piano every day for 12 years and was expected to get straight A’s, though she never did.  True to stereotype, she is good at math but is not soft-spoken and timid.  She grew up having strong opinions about aesthetics and tried to live up to her mom’s adage to “always look better than everyone else in the room.”  Fifty-one years have mellowed her out a bit and she now lives with a deeply grateful heart and tries to live the best she can with the resources God has given her.

Trained as an architect, she is finished designing multi-million dollar hospitals and now spends her time volunteering in her community.  She designs the occasional logo and architecture project pro bono.

She and her husband are parents to an incredibly joyful, creative son, who struggles to make sense of the world through Aspergers and learning disabilities.  They became a family through adoption.  Her husband is tall, dark and handsome, and the sweetest, dearest human being she has ever met.

Her favorite “retailers” are craigslist, thrift stores and TJMaxx.

Grace does the occasional brain dump at Blackbeltoma.
