I was born with thick, bushy eyebrows, the kind that would make Brooke Shields jealous. I was always determined, like Ms. Shields, that I would not succumb to the skinny eyebrow fad. This worked fine for me as a teenager and college student. Skinny eyebrows weren’t in style anyway. I learned to pluck JUST enough to give them a nice shape, but I was cautious not to OVER pluck.
But the thing about my eyebrows is they are LONG. So what happened was, I would pluck a hair that was not conforming to the perfect shape of the eyebrow, but it was so long that plucking it would effect another area of the eyebrow. And over time I realized that my eyebrows weren’t so much thick as they were long. And with each unfortunate PLUCK I would eliminate a good portion of my eyebrow.
You know what’s coming, don’t you. Suffice it to say I no longer have bushy eyebrows. I have skinny eyebrows. Too bad I can’t pluck my thighs and them it skinny too.
So anyway. Enter, the eyebrow pencil. Now, eyebrow pencil isn’t only for those of us who have gotten carried away with the tweezers. Most women can benefit from use of the eyebrow pencil to fill in and shape the eyebrows. But some of us rely on the eyebrow pencil for our very lives. I look bald without the eyebrow pencil. In fact, I am so dependent on the eyebrow pencil that if I don’t wear any other makeup, I will pencil in my eyebrows.
So today I am going to tell you about my favorite. I have tried quite a few. But my favorite, by far, is the Eyebrow Micro Pencil by Vincent Longo.

This eyebrow pencil is, as it says, a "micro" pencil. It is the THINNEST eyebrow pencil I have ever seen. Here is what the website says about it:
What it is:
New generation of wood eyebrow tools, with an extra tin lead pencil for a super precise application. What it is formulated to do:
The lead’s smooth, hard wax formula allows for precise application and long-lasting wear. What else you need to know:
The pencil gives you microprecision access to brow hairs at the root so
you can fill in those hard to reach spaces and reshape the brows for a
natural finish. Features a separate sharpener.
And there you have it. It even has its own sharpener. They thought of EVERYthing. Because it is so thin and the point is so precise, my eyebrows look (I hope!!) super natural, even though half of them is lead. I have had several people compliment my eyebrows, and when I tell them they are mostly penciled in, they are shocked. They have to get real close and look. It’s charming, really.
I realize that a lady should never reveal her beauty secrets, but I’ve never been very good at holding my cards close to my chest. As I said to the girls at Bunco the other night, I don’t know much, but what I know I shout from the rooftops.
So there you have it. The most precise eyebrow pencil money can buy. On Thursday I will do a Tips and Tricks segment on how to apply eyebrow pencil. I bet you’re on the edge of your seats.
