Guest Blogger: Carol on Mistake Proof Mascara Application

Carol has been married to her high school sweetheart for 22 years. She
is the mom of a 19-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter.  She has
been blogging since October 2007 and loves the connection with the
women she has made through her blog, I Throw Like A Girl.

Most women put mascara on their top eyelashes first, then on
their lower lashes. Think about how you put mascara on your lower
lashes.  You probably open your eyes really wide and lower your chin
down, making all kinds of funny faces in the process. That is when the
offending wet mascara makes its mark on your eyelids.

To avoid this, you just need to change the order in which you apply
your mascara.  If you do the bottom lashes first, then the upper, your
eyelids will be polka dot free.

  1. Carol ~ I Throw Like a Girl says:

Hi, Carol here. I wrote this post to help everyone avoid those unsightly mascara dots we get on our upper eyelids. Hopefully a friend will let you know they’re there, but it’s better to not have them in the first place! I hope this helps!

  2. Thanks! It makes sense, but I totally do it the opposite way.

    Great guest post!

  3. Makes perfect sense and sounds so simple … but applying mascara is like crossing your arms – a hard habit to change. (Go ahead, try crossing your arms with the opposite arm being on top … not so easy, is it?!)

But I will give your suggestion a try the next time I put mascara on at my favorite long stop light.

    Thanks,
