Yay! We were nervous those first few days, y’all. It took most of you a while to woman up and BLOG YOUR FACES, but we were delighted in the end to have a dozen brave and beautiful entrants for the Burt’s Bees ® cosmetic case and product sampler giveaway. Nice showing for an at-first-somewhat-horrifying task.
We hope those of you who participated ended up finding it at least somewhat rewarding and fun. A few things came into my wee little head as I took a little tour of all of our lovely BLOGYOURFACERS’ blog posts and emails: Personally, I was immediately stricken with jealousy over all of your lovely, full, non-mangy lookin’ eyebrows. I wish I had something to shape into the classically beautiful sideways apostrophes y’all all have going on. I’m lucky to get a decent set of blotchy drawn-on parentheses, myself. Secondly, I loved hearing that many of you use high SPF sunscreen on your faces on a daily basis. Go, you! And thirdly, because the last step of my own make-up routine is a quick spray of perfume, I became intrigued to know what scents y’all wear and if you wear them every day or just on special occasions.
Me? I wear Estee Lauder’s ® Pleasures on a daily basis – in some ways it reminds me of the original scent of the Secret deodorant I wore back when I was a teeny-bopper, so it feels clean and young and innocent to me, which, hey, what 40-year-old wouldn’t like a nice dose of those things? And on special occasions I wear the Christian Dior ® J’Adore that my husband gave me for our anniversary last year and I accepted with an internal eyeroll because HELLO, HONEY! Just because I’m wearing this particular perfume doesn’t mean I’m going to become a six-foot tall blonde bombshell and rip off my jewelry and gold lame dress as I stalk into the bedroom wearing nothing but a smoldering-angel stare. You get that, don’tcha? Still me, here. In my sad-sack maternity capris from Target ® and my five-year-old red, floweredy flip flops. (Wave wave.)
But the good news is, J’Adore smells lovely and fresh and a little bit floral but rich and not at all overpowering, or, you know, poisonous like you’d think it might from those scary television ads. So as it turns out, the husband didn’t do so badly. And he’s even done a fairly good job of masking his disappointment when I spray it on and don’t immediately turn into Charlize Theron.
I’m guessing she wouldn’t be caught dead in a pair of Target ® maternity capris.

Perfume! I love love love perfume and wear something every day.
I do use more body sprays lately so the scent is lighter.
I love Philosophy Inner Grace right now.
I also like Heavenly Body Mist from Victoria’s Secret a lot. That is my hubbys fave. And amber glow from Bath and Body Works.
My all time favorite scent is Quelques Fleurs Perfume. It is yummy. I ran out though and it is not cheap!

I have never really been much of a perfume person. However, I do like to have a particular “scent”, preferably one that is pleasant :-), that people associate with me. I LOVE Sweet Pea from Bath and Body Works. I keep trying other scents from B&BW because I keep thinking I’m in the mood for a change, but I always come back to this one. It’s my absolute favorite!

An addition to my previous post..duh! I use the body spray. Actually, I use the shower gel and body cream, too.
I don’t wear perfume every day. Since unscented anti-antiperspirant/deodorant doesn’t seem to work I have to buy something scented and I hate having the scents clash.
But I do have a favorite that I wear to church or when I want to pick up my mood. Last year someone at work would leave free perfume samples in the Ladies’ room. Every now and then I would try one and eventually I fell in love. It didn’t transform into something awful once it touched my skin and matched my personality so well. DKNY Be Delicious. I still have that little sample jar since a small swipe goes a long way.
And then there is my treasured scent. The one Honey loves for me to wear was discontinued years ago. It was the Raspberry perfume from The Body Shop. I got a bottle for our wedding and since it was discontinued I resort to wearing it only on special occasions like our anniversary.
I’m loving two right now – Pure Vanilla by La Vanila and Marc Jacobs. Both are light enough for everyday wear – Pure Vanilla when it is cooler and Marc Jacobs for spring/summer.
Funny that this should be the post today. Hubs and I were just at Ulta last night trying to find some fragrances since we are both out. We both have been wearing the same ones for years, and after smelling so many that we both had raging headaches…we went back to the same ones. Nice everyday ones for me are Philosophy Falling in Love and Hypnotic Poison. I LOVE all Escada perfumes, and I’m most known for my Escada Magnetism scent. I used to wear it everyday, but since I’m working from home now I just stick to Philosophy Falling in Love. During the winter, for going out I like Gucci Rush. All of these fall into a vanilla based, musky, woody, oriental fragrance. It’s the only thing that I can handle. I can’t do anything flowery- makes my allergies go crazy. Hubs has been wearing CK Be for years. It is a unisex scent, but so very clean. Smells great on him, and he gets tons of compliments.

I don’t wear perfume, got the allergy thing going on. But I love Estee Lauder Beautiful and Lancome’s Tresor.
I wear Calvin Klein Escape everyday. I went to buy more once and the lady at the counter said, “That’s an old one”. I never really understood her point.

I wear Jasmine, Japanese musk, and Satsuma all from the Body shop, because I can be sensitive to perfumes. I soo wish I could smell the raspberry one.
I am thinking of hosting a blog your face if anyone missed this one! Prize would probably be candle related and beauti control (whatever I can con outta my mother :D)
I wear Blue Turquoise by Ralph Lauren and Bulgari (That I ripped off from a girls weekend at the Ritz …. the samples and a friend got tired of hearing me talk about not having anymore, so she bought me some for Christmas!) ~ I missed this blog your face, BOO!!! You should do another one!
I can’t decide on just one. I wear several fun Demeter fragrances for light summertime cheer. And I wear Baby Grace by Philosophy when I need a little mama happy. I also like both of the Stila fragrances – Creme Bouquet and Jade Blossom.
Wild honeysuckle from Bath and Body works on a daily basis… but um, Provocative Woman by Elizabeth Arden when I’m going out… like on a date… which is HYSTERICAL… because that’s so not how I see myself… and I always PRAY that whomever I’m with won’t ask me what scent I’m wearing… 😀
I used to wear perfume–I love a lot of Estee Lauder’s–Beautiful and Knowing stand out in my mind, but I stopped after I had kids and started staying home.
So now I never wear it. Never.
