Hi my name is Moriah and I’m a shampoo snob.
For the past 15
years at least, I’ve been using nothing but Biolage shampoo and
conditioner (or detangler, as the case may be) on my locks.
(I blame my mother, who took me to fancy salons ever since junior high and clearly got me hooked.)
But since Biolage also comes with a nice price tag, I’ve been
wondering about a cheaper alternative for a while and did a little
product exploring.
(And since I’m sure I’m not the only one
trying to cut expenses in this current economic bump, I’m going to
share my little haircare findings.)
Thanks to a tip from Boomama many moons ago, I found out that
L’Oreal is owned by Lancome. (Since then I’ve used L’Oreal’s knock-off
version of eye makeup remover and love it. It’s not oily like they
often are.)

So I decided to try L’Oreal first. I tried the Vive Pro Nutri
Gloss for hair that’s normal to fine (in the lighter pink bottles). I
discovered that I actually liked it! And I really liked that it cost
me about $3. I’d been using it for about a year now.
However, this past shopping trip I decided to try the Vive Pro Glossy Volume for normal hair – in the dark
hot pink bottles. And you know what? I love it even more. It’s a
perfect combination for my particular head. I’d even say it works and
smells just as good as Biolage.
But it’s about $3! Dare I say I like it more?!
When Moriah isn’t washing her hair, she’s blogging at Please Pass the Salt.

I’ll pick that up next time!
I always use whatever is on sale that week and my hair shows it. Well, I am breaking down and buying Vive Pro Glossy Volume shampoo. If Moriah is used to salon products and loves this as much, it sounds perfect. I am looking forward to healthy shiny, hair.
HHAHAHAH! I was going to do a post on Biolage snob turned Aussie lover. Great to see that Vive is another option too!
Hmmm… I used to use biolage and am always looking for drugstore shampoo and cond. that I like. I may have to see if L’Oreal has something to help my thick and coarse hair.
I love Vive Pro in the yellow-orange bottles. I can’t remember exactly what it is called of course, – I think maybe it’s Hydra Gloss? – but my hair is really dry and it is super-moisturizing!
I love Vive Pro too! Like you, I’ve been a shampoo snob for years. I paid $11.00 a 12 oz bottle for TIGI Catwalk shampoo that lasted about a month. Now I use this, it lasts much longer, I actually like it better and it’s $3.00! (recently my grocery store had it on sale buy one get one free…SCORE!)
The product sucks!
I bought “Color Vive Hi-Gloss Shampoo For DRY or DAMAGED HAIR and Color Vive Hi-Glss Conditioner. They BOTH have perfume in them which is not conducive to hair! If you don’t belive me, open up a bottle. You can smell it a mile away. I WANT THE $6.30 BACK I paid for them. I’ll give you back your product. I only used it twice to ruin y hair. I havenaturally curley hair which became limp. There is always curl to my hair; not when I used that junk.
I’m sorry to have to write here but it’s the only place I saw that had a place to write.
