Okay, help. I give. I call uncle. What am I doing wrong?
This is my third attempt at using the Intuition plus razor (this is my third FREE one and I have another FREE one in the cupboard) and the "skin conditioning solid" (looks like a bar of soap) always falls off after about three uses.
It happened again yesterday and I found myself, once again, fishing a slippery bar off the bottom of the shower floor and smooshing it back on the razor.
What I DO like about the razor:
- I have yet to cut myself. Believe me that is a feat in itself.
- I don’t have to use shaving cream/2-1 cleanser wash.
- My legs are nice and soft
So, I really do want to make this work, I just can’t stand that it falls apart after three uses. Please de-lurk yourself, these legs need all the help they can get.

I tried those several times and I too had the problem as did my SIL she called the company and told them of her problem. They informed her each razor was only for 3 -4 uses. I no longer buy them!
I used to use the original Intuition razors and never had that problem. And they lasted more than just 3-4 uses. I really liked them a lot. It sounds like this new “improved” version is not so improved.
Where do you store it? Keep it dry. And this is just an idea, but it might be because its a freebie from the mail. When I buy from the store they are fine, but the freebies in the mail seem more fragile. I guess from all that banging around during delivery.
I have had the SAME experience. I quit buying that razor.
I can still find the refills for the original Intuition, (I think). But I would bet that since they have a newer version out the older ones probably aren’t available.
Yup, three to four uses and then the are useless. Probably their marketing strategy to get us ladies to purchase more. Don’t these marketing geniuses know that we women shave in the shower every day? Not once a week, which would make the razor last a week?
Geez!!!
Blessings,
Sher
Same thing. I have one that I keep and use for travel because that’s all I need to take – no shaving cream or anything else – and because I’m usually not away from home for more than two or three shaves. 🙂 The perfect travel razor. Lousy at home razor.
Two words: Venus Breeze. It comes with a much less cumbersome shave gel around the razor that lasts much longer in my opinion. I have tried both, and the Venus Breeze wins hands down.
I love the Schick Intuition, I actually reviewed it here back in the spring. I’ve been using it ever since & have never had the soap/blade fall off. It’s true that you don’t get as many uses out of this razor as others, but I get about 7 or 8. And the time I save makes up for having to buy refills more often. Not to mention not buying shaving gel anymore. I only shave 2 or 3 times a week, so maybe that’s why it’s worth it for me. You can buy big packs of refills at Sam’s Club, which helps with the costs.
this is kind of old, but i will say. i use this razor, and i use it for almost a month, everyother day (give or take a few days.) before i get a new one.
i have to tell you, the trick is to keep it 100% dry. if that means don’t store it in the bathroom, then that’s what that means. ya know when you leave a sliver of soap on the soap dish, it becomes all slimy and yucky. well that’s what will happen. the soap will split open and fall off.
good luck
