Today I will be celebrating Thanksgiving with my family. As we take the time to remember the things we are grateful for I will pause and remember the big things such as my loving family, good health, a home and a job. But I also took a little time to remember the little things that make life so much more pleasant.
In honor of the holiday and the Thursday Thirteen carnival I put together a list of thirteen beauty products without which my life wouldn't be quite as pleasant and chic.
I am thankful for:
- Crest toothpaste – It makes morning breath disappear. Enough said.
- Secret Flawless Deodorant & Anti-perspirant – Life would be both wetter and less friendly on the olfactory senses without this wonder product.
- Tweezerman tweezers – The only tool that keeps my eyebrows under control.
- Suave Professionals Shampoo and Conditioner – Great looking hair at a price anyone can afford. Their Humectant conditioner is the best at keeping Princess's curls bouncy and manageable and I just love their Vibrant Shine line on my hair.
- Straightening iron – My hair comes close to being stick straight but not quite and this tool gets me the rest of the way there. Why didn't these exist when I was in high school?
- TRESemmé Thermal Creations Straightening Gel – Protects my hair from the straightening iron and adds to the silky, glossy look that lasts all day.
- Face treatment with Benzoyl peroxide – Even at thirty-something my face would resemble a slice of pizza if I didn't have this chemical compound in my beauty arsenal. I'm not loyal to any specific product here. As long as it has 2.5% Benzoyl peroxide as the main active ingredient I'll buy it.
- Bare Escentuals Mineral makeup– This is the first foundation that did not cause my skin to break out and I love how natural looks on me.
- Almay Oil Free Eye Make Up Remover pads – Removes eye make up with no effort and is really inexpensive.
- Urban Decay Shadow Primer – Another reviewer didn't see much of a difference in the durability of her eye makeup with this product but for me it is the only thing that prevents my shadow and liner from morphing into one giant smudge.
- The Body Shop Body Butter – I have this in a few different 'flavors' and it has worked to cure scaly legs, prevent stretchmarks and keeps my hands soft and smooth.
- ChapStick ® Medicated – The only, only thing that has defended my lips against the cold, dry New England winters.
- DKNY Be Delicious – Everyone should have a signature fragrance and this one is mine. I wear it on all special occasions and holidays so when I hug my loved ones this soft yet refreshing scent will stick in their memory instead of the smell of my laundry detergent.
There you have it, some of the little everyday things I am grateful to have in my medicine cabinet, on my dresser and in my purse.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I loved this list, T! I couldn’t live without my Secret, either. Love that stuff. I’m dying to try the Bare Ecsentuals — I just need to get to a store where I can be sure I’m buying the right shade. Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
Great list! And as far as the Urban Decay, it must be b/c I have such dry skin. Ironically I’ve begun using it again b/c it seems to make my eye color go on better.
Love, love, love the Almay make up remover pads! Good choice. I need to go buy some more.
We totally share the same taste. Be Delicious is my favorite perfume too!
