Lucscious Lashes for a Price

dermaquest_dermalashI’ve always been blessed with long lashes, but in recent years I’ve noticed them thinning a bit. I don’t know if this is supposed to happen in old age or if I have some undiagnosed disease or what (I’ll go with old age, if you don’t mind) but it certainly wasn’t part of my master plan. I was asked to review DermaLash Color — a nourishing eyelash treatment in the form of liquid eyeliner that is supposed to lengthen, condition, and strengthen eyelashes naturally. I was told it should make my lashes appear fuller, stronger, and longer. So I said SIGN ME UP!

Here’s the thing. For DermaLash to work, you have to wear it consistently for several weeks before you see results, and then I assume you would have to continue to use it to maintain results. I have read several reviews tonight, all positive, from people who have used the original DermaLash clear treatment that you apply at nighttime. With either the eye liner or the clear treatment, the key is to apply it right at the lash line so that it gets into the hair folicle. The ingredients are all natural and perfectly safe, so there is nothing to lose by trying the product — except your pocketbook. Both products ring up to $95. I know, OUCH.

The general consensus is that it does work, evidently by nourishing the lashes and making them healthier, which in turn makes them stronger and slightly fuller and longer. I opted to try the indigo eyeliner, and I was pleased with the way it looked and applied. Unfortunately I did not wear it often enough to gauge any notable difference in my lashes. Because I don’t wear makeup every day, and I am not always up for the time and effort it takes to apply liquid eyeliner, I probably only used it about 50% of the time.

My bottom line is this. If you have extremely short or thinning lashes and are willing to drop $95 and wear liquid eyeliner daily, this product is worth a try. I’d be more inclined to try the original Dermalash, as it’s something that I can see myself applying more regularly and it can also be applied to top and bottom lashes. (I never wear liquid eyeliner on the bottom lash line, and I wouldn’t recommend it!)

  1. looks nice

  2. Oooh. Your eyes are all really well done (and I agree that liquid liner does not belong on the lower lid).
