Raw Egg Facial Mask

naturalladyI know you’re thinking, oh no she didn’t…and I’m sayin…oh yes I did!!

I heard a “supah stah” talk about how she used a raw egg as a facial mask and I thought, what the heck, my face hasn’t been masked in a few months, weeks, days, I could probably manage this type of mask. The steps are super simple.

eggs

1) Crack the egg.
2) Separate the egg white from the egg yolk. Save BOTH in separate bowls.
3) Whisk the yolk (the protein) and apply to face for 2 minutes.
4) Wipe off with warm washcloth
—————
5) Whisk the egg white and apply to face and neck (keep away from eyes) for as long as you like, the longer the better and more firm your face will be when done (I recommend 10-15 min MINIMUM).
6) Wipe off with warm washcloth.
7) Put on moisturizer.
8.) Try to stop feeling you face cuz it’s uber-soft and uber-firm.

And the cost per session? About 10 cents! Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talkin about…

  1. hmm… sounds interesting.. I will have to give it a shot! I’ve heard of putting the high fat yogurt on your face is good for killing bacteria, like acne!

  2. Oooo! I’ve heard about this and thought of trying it but was a little nervous. I think I’ll take the plunge… after the baby is born. Don’t want to risk accidentally ingesting or catching anything from raw egg before then.

  3. that sounds icky and super fabulous at the same time :O) i am totally going to give this a try. it sounds like a nice addition to my bath night. any info on how often one should/should not use the egg mask?

  4. I think we were watching the same show! You beat me to the punch on trying it though. Well now that you tell me to try it, I’m going to have to! Thanks for being brave.

  5. That’s cool! I love unique ways to use what is already in our home. I might need to add this in my Frugal Living column!

    Thanks.
