This is going to be the first of several OBAGI reviews that I will be doing. I have been fortunate to have the chance to try several products from OBAGI that are distributed exclusively by select physicians. To see a list of physicians, go to www.obagi.com.
The first review will be about the OBAGI CLENZIderm M.D. Systems. This system is a three-step therapeutic acne system that includes a liquid form of benzoyl peroxide (BPO) that is clinically proven to penetrate deeply into the skin and clear acne fast. These products are formulated to give you pore penetration to reduce acne below the skin’s surface, bacteria reduction and results that are fast and visible as early as 2 weeks.
Most benzoyl peroxides are formulated with insoluble crystals that remain largely on the surface of the skin. Acne, however, starts below the surface of skin, deep within the hair follicles or pores. OBAGI CLENZIderm M.D. includes a new, liquified form of benzoyl peroxide that is 1/10,000 the size of any other benzoyl peroxide available. Because it’s liquified, it penetrates deep into the pores to rapidly reduce acne below the skin’s surface.
I have been using the OBAGI CLENZIderm M.D. system for around 8 weeks. I am extremely impressed with the results that I have experienced. I first cleanse with the daily care cream cleanser, which makes my face feel very clean and soft. The Therapeutic Lotion is applied next, followed by the Therapeutic Moisturizer. My skin feels so hydrated and soft, and my makeup glides on my skin after I apply this skincare routine. The texture of my skin is much smoother, and the breakouts are happening less often. I also have less clogged pores, and less visible signs of problem skin.
I could not be happier with these products, and I look forward to reviewing more products from OBAGI. If you have problem skin or know someone who does, I would highly suggest going to their website to see a list of doctors in your area who carry these products.

Since I’m prone to problem skin, this product sounds wonderful to me and is something I’d like to try. Am I to understand that you need a doctor’s prescription to purchase the CLENZIderm system? Or can it be ordered over the internet or purchased locally?
I’m also wondering (if a prescription is needed) whether this is something pharmacies typically have on hand Can prescription insurance coverage be applied?
Thanks Leigh Ann for sharing your experience!
