Y’all know I’m always on the lookout for a hair product that will work miracles with my dulling, thinning hair. Between my hair and skin, I tell ya, 36 is beating me. In fact, my next step is to try a hair coloring/glossing treatment. I’ll let you know how that goes.
In the meantime, I was sent hair products by ARROJO to try. Yes, that is THE Nick Arrojo from What Not To Wear. He has recently come out with his own haircare line of products, and they are touted as a budget-friendly, high performance hair care line.

I told my PR contact that I have thin, dry hair and that I’d love to try out some ARROJO products, so this is what she sent me:
Over the past few weeks I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner faithfully. The shampoo and conditioner go on very thick, the scent is light and pleasant, and they leave my hair moist and manageable. It doesn’t feel heavy like I would expect it to — as heavy as the shampoo feels. I’m assuming this is the moisturizing part of it. But it also doesn’t leave it thin and lifeless as some moisturizing shampoos do. I would definitely purchase it again.
I’ve tried the hair creme, volume foam, and shine spray in different combinations over the past few weeks. The volume foam definitely provides some lift, but I also feel like it leaves it a bit on the dry side. I like the hair creme in very small doses for giving it smoothness and control, but it left it a bit flat.
As far as the shine spray is concerned, I just learned how to use it properly. I was spraying it on like a hair spray, and I wasn’t that impressed with the “hold.” But then one day last week I read the label and realized it’s not a hair spray to hold your hair in place, but rather a “shine spray” — as the name suggests” — that you spray on your hands and then run through your hair to give it a nice shiny finish. Um, hi. RTFM? Yeah.
So all that to say, I was liking the products okay UNTIL… I got the bright idea to try ALL THREE STYLING PRODUCTS TOGETHER.
I don’t know why I didn’t try that at first — I guess I thought it was too many different things to mix? But on a whim I used all 3 — the hair creme, volume foam, and shine spray — when I got ready for church on Sunday morning, and did my hair ever look awesome. I got hold and managability from the hair creme, a nice lift from the volume foam, and a glossy finish from the shine spray. Perhaps with the collective results of all three products, I can put off the pricey hair processes I was planning for a while longer.
The prices are higher than drug store brands but on the low end of the salon brands. All told, it’s a good value. I’m thrilled to have found them.

Sounds like good stuff! Me and my thin hair will keep it in mind. 🙂
