Pasty Lady

Well, spring has definitely sprung in my neck of the woods and it has left me with a harsh realization: I need a tan.

I am trying to be good and avoid the sun (especially on my face and neck), so while I was at the grocery store this weekend I decided a new bronzer was in order.

Enter Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer. (Say that 5 times fast!)

The powder is super soft and silky. I picked up the “Fair to Light” Color 1133 and I have to say I think I might go for the darker shade “Light to Medium” when I pick up my next package.

It went on smoothly with no streaking and while I can’t say I feel like I look more “tan,” I definitely feel like I glow.

Now I can’t vouch at all for my picture-taking skills, but I thought I’d at least try for you.

(Yes, I realize that you may not be able to see a difference. I would probably go with the medium shade instead of the lightest shade next time. Very subtle.)

For about $13, I can’t tell you how good this made my skin feel. It went on like silk and felt nice all day. There isn’t much shimmer to it, which is one of the worst qualities of most bronzers.

Word to the wise: shimmer in bronzer really makes your pores and creases stand out. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

Some people might think $13 is a bit much for a non-essential beauty product, but I’ve used Physicians Formula for years and their powders last for a very long time.

What do you do to combat the early-spring whiteness?

How do you avoid looking like an extra in Twilight? I’d love to hear your thoughts…

  1. You’re too cute! I don’t really see a difference, but I know from experience that an untrained photographer (me!) has a hard time catching subtle differences in makeup on camera.

I am interested in trying Physicians Forumla now. I rarely use bronzer because of the glitter issue. I may have to give this a try.

  2. Hi Sarah! I can’t tell a difference with both pics. 🙂 I have never used a Bronzer before! Don’t laugh. LOL 😉 You look very pretty! I cant probably use a Bronzer with my skin as I have to be careful-I have Rosacea. So, I miss out on a lot of beauty products for the cheeks. 🙁

  3. I can see a slight difference…I am pasty white as well! I mean I could use talcum powder as my base! I love cream bronzers as well, or bare minerals is always good! And Nars blush is amazing as a bronzer.

  4. You look great in both pictures, I can’t tell a difference. I’ve always wanted to try Physicians Formula, I just haven’t been able to fit it into my budget. Now that spring is here, I hope to get just a bit of sun on my face. I think doctors are agreeing that we need a little sum everyday for the vitamin D.

  5. You are soo adorable 🙂 I see a slight difference. It is very subtle like you said. I really like Physicians Formula too. I have used their blushes in the past and like how they look and feel on my skin.

  6. I’ll have to give this a try! I am sooo pasty white right now!
