Eye makeup remover. We all use it (please tell me you use it and don’t go scrubbing at your eyes with soap and water). The thing is this – are we using it well?
I recently went on vacation to sunny Destin, Florida. While packing, I realized that I didn’t have any small bottles to put my eye makeup remover in, so I improvised.
I took my big old giant bottle of Clinique Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent:
And I poured some into a handy little squirt bottle that came in some travel kit:

And then I realized the genius of this little trick.
When I usually use eye makeup remover, I soak a cotton ball and then use it. When I had the remover in a squirt bottle, I was able to spritz a tiny bit onto the surface of the cotton ball and use it. I was wasting so much product before… it just soaked through the cotton ball and went into the trash.
Now I don’t feel as guilty about spending $16.50 on eye makeup remover since I can make it last so much longer now.
Do you use eye makeup remover? Or are you a soap and water girl?

Oh, I’m busted! I’ve been known to use soap and water — but that’s because of the exact issue you highlight here! I go through it so quickly when I use a cotton ball that it seems like a waste of money. The little spray bottle is a super idea and solves that problem beautifully!
Smart! 🙂
I always use eye makeup remover. ALWAYS. Nothing else really works for me, and I am careful about my eye area.
Awesome. Idea.
I use this very make-up remover!
I use soap and water kind of. I use Purpose cleanser which is really gentle, so when I use it on the eye area it isn’t irritating. It says right on the bottle, “gentle as water” and they aren’t lying. Squeaky clean skin, fresh smell, and it’s not drying. I love it.
I use Beauti-control and it’s a sort of gel, which I think is actually a face cleanser.. and it doubles as makeup remover. Otherwise it’s all water.
That’s a great idea that would work for other products too!
