Time to Start Shopping for Your Go-To Summer Shoe. Or You Could Just Win Some Free Ones, Thanks to Lands’ End!

We had a lovely day here yesterday, with bright sunshine and the temperature climbing laboriously to nearly sixty degrees. Since days like that don’t bless this prairie often in March, the kids and I were outside several hours lapping up all the early-spring weather while the lappin’ was good. Of course the minute the sun started setting, we couldn’t get our cold little behinds back in the house fast enough and now we’re all snuggled into our warm beds in our cozy footie pajamas, nothing left to remind us of today’s brilliance but our wind-burned cheeks, but still I’ve got something I didn’t have yesterday.

I’ve got HOPE!

That spring and summer will be here. Eventually.

Which of course gets me thinking about shoes. (Naturally!) The kind of shoes that sit by the door during the warm months, awaiting that hop outside to watch the kids play in the neighbors’ back yard, or the quick trip to the ice cream shop, or the early morning run to the pool for swim lessons, or the spontaneous cook-out on the back porch. You know the shoe – Your Go-To Summer Shoe, the one that gets worn every day from late spring to early fall, with everything from jeans to that cute A-line skirt you wear when you want to feel sassy. The shoe that by September bears the happy, relaxed imprint of your foot on its comfy insole. The one you’ll sadly move from its place by the door in late October and find buried in your closet in January and try on just to revel in their residual warmth.

Sigh.

Here are some of the contenders to be MY Go-To Summer Shoe this year. You can take a closer look at any of these shoes by clicking on the photo, which will take you to the retailer who sells them. (You’re welcome!)

I really love the suede tassel shoe. Easy on and easy off. They look very comfy and that’s what I love.

  2. I love the Terrain Ballet Shoes. They just look so comfy and easy to slip on and off. I’m an infant teacher at a daycare so that is important to me.

  3. Kimberly says:

I love the Mocs, but the all-terrain ballet skimmer is great, too!

  4. I would wear the fire out of the Women’s Terrain Ballet Shoes…I love all the colors and they look really good for chasing a toddler around! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  6. I absolutely LOVE the terrain ballet shoes..I want to get a pair!
    Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

  7. I LOVE, LOVE the moccasins you picked out, which is why I’m here! But for an ultra-practical second choice, the Terrain Jane in brown.

  12. Michelle says:

I LOVE the tasseled mocs in both the pink and orange-red colors. However, it gets SO STINKIN’ HOT in Georgia that I’d have to go with the super-sute suede flip flops for every day…love those polka dots, and the material would dress them up a bit when the situation called for it.

  13. My top pic is the espadrille in pistachio. Love the color – it would look perfect with my favorite pedicure color for the summer.

  14. Oh – and I tweeted about the giveaway!

  15. I love love the Women’s Espadrilles Shoes! Super cute for dressing up….

  16. Stephanie Bess says:

  17. Ashleigh (Heart and Home) says:

I’m really needing some of the trekker style sandals this year… Land’s End has one of the better prices on them. Here in San Diego, I end up wearing flip flops from April to November (and actually, often even in December), and I’m pretty much set for cutsie/date/church shoes, but the outdoorsy, kayaking, camping, hiking around department is empty in my closet.

But, hey, I could TOTALLY add a pair of moccasins to the batch. 😉

  18. Screwed Up Texan says:

I adore the Women’s Terrain Ballet shoes in True Navy! There is something femine and pratical about the style.

  25. The terrain mary janes are adorable! They look so comfy and yet cute! I also really like the Mary Jane trekkers!

  26. My alltime favorite shoes from Lands End are their sport slide, but I think they’ve changed that to the terrain slide now.

But in looking through what they have to offer, I’m lovin’ the Terrain Mary Janes. Oh, my. Too cute.

  27. The espadrilles are cute, but so are the all-terrain ballet shoes. And I could really use a nice suede flip-flop….such cute shoes!

My favorite pair this minute–the Terrain Janes, followed fast by the Canvas Slip Ons. I have worn Land’s End sandals and shoes for years and the quality is wonderful. So many to choose, only two feet to wear them on. Sigh.

  56. Women’s terrain ballet shoes – dark khaki. Love those – go with jeans, shorts, capris… lots of stuff.

  57. okay. i have two choices for this upcoming spring and summer, and they are either the women’s wedge beach slides, in ANY of those fabulously bright and sunny colors, OR the women’s trekker slide shoes.
