Hairspray

In my lifetime, I have had a very love-hate relationship with hairspray.

Sometimes it is sticky. Sometimes it is crunchy. Sometimes it makes my flat hair flatter. And so on and so forth.

I have tried many brands. Pantene. Tresemme. Herbal Essences. Aveda. They were all okay. They all didn’t do much for my flat hair – in fact, they probably flattened it more.

Then I became roommates with a cheerleader and everything changed. You see, she invested in this hairspray that she called “cement.” And then we began to explore the other formulations of said “cement.”

Enter Sebastian Shaper Plus Hairspray:

This stuff is absolutely amazing. It takes my baby-fine hair and gives it some “grip,” which I love. It is not crunchy or hard, and I can run a brush through my hair without destroying the style.

My favorite thing about this is how light and airy it makes my hair feel. Don’t believe me? Check out the proof:

The Before: (Note the limp, lifeless hair and 2-inch outgrown highlight roots)

before

And the After:

after

Now I know you can see the difference there, right?

All I did between these two pictures was flip over and spray my hair, then comb my hands through my hair. Impressive, right?

Want something even more impressive? On Friday night I had an all-night charity event that required me to be standing and dancing on my feet all night long. I tried to find a good picture of my hair but I am doing something crazy in all the pictures… so you’ll just have to trust that at the end of 12 hours on my feet my hair looked just as good as it did Friday morning.

And if that isn’t a miracle, I don’t know what is.

Do you use hairspray? Have you found your miracle hairspray? Do tell!

  2. sebastian shaper plus is THE best! it is everything you described!

my baby fine hair needs extra lift and for that i use white sands liquid texture (medium strength for me). it is great for giving lift at hold at the crown.

  3. I like the Shaper. I’ve used it off and on for years.
    I like Dove’s hairspray a lot, too.

I tend to spend less on hairspray so I can spend more on shampoo. This is probably not the best thing to do but I have to save it somewhere!

  4. that sounds amazing. i chopped my hair really short and have had the worst time finding something that will keep it in place without making it gross. this is definitely worth a try. thanks for the tip

  5. I completely agree! Sometimes I forget how amazing this hairspray is and go with another brand, only to be sorely disappointed!!

  6. Amazing B&A pics!

I think I’ve seen this at Sally’s, no? Do you order it from Amazon?
