Biolage Curl Defining Elixir

A couple weeks ago I wrote THIS post about styling naturally curly hair.

In high school, back in the 8o’s, I wore my hair just one way.

Big.

With lots of hair gel and plenty O’ Aqua Net.

Here is a picture of me – my sophomore year in high school.

I told you it was big.

But that was the 80’s and, at least then, I was in style. Oh yeah, that is my mom’s shirt I have on canyoutell?

Alas, much like me, my hair products have matured just a bit.

Yes, I’m going to talk about my hair again.
Yes, I’m going to talk about my favorite hair products and no, they are not compensating me in any way.

However, if Matrix Biolage would like to send some product or coupons my way or your way in the form of a giveaway, well, I wouldn’t say no. I’m just sayin’.

Anyway, a couple weeks ago in THIS post about styling curly hair, I mentioned a few products recommended by the stylist. Interesting enough, she did not know that Biolage are some of my favorite products and yet, these were the ones she told me would work best with my hair.

At the time I wrote the post, I only had the chance to use them one day. So, I really couldn’t give them a fair review. However, two weeks later, I can!

First the Biolage Curl Defining Elixir. It’s a medium hold gel that is great for curly or short hair styles.

curl_defining_elixirI have tried quite a few products for my naturally frizzy curly hair. I have never ever used a better product. I can honestly say it is a product that does what it says it will do. After using this product, my curls are soft, not crunchy, not frizzy and stay that way for at least 2 days – sometimes 3 days if I can stand not to wash my hair that many days. Which normally, I can’t but there are weeks, well, you know what I mean. I also think that the product helps to actually define and separate my curls instead of them just being one big mess of frizz.

Here is the picture again of me after using this product.

Okay, so that is part 1 of this review. Part 2 will be the shine milk and the heat activator – both of which I love very much. As much as you can love hair products.
