6PM at Midnight

I started to receive these emails a month or so ago alerting me to amazing deals on designer and name brand shoes.

What’s wrong with them? That was my first thought.

Just who is running this site was my next thought and are they going to steal my credit card information and run away to Paris. Oh, good luck with that because I don’t think it will get you that far!

So, I researched it a little bit more and it seems that the website 6pm is a legit site owned by another awesome site to buy shoes, Zappos.

When Zappos gets really overstocked, they send them to 6pm and discount them even more. Both sites also sell purses, watches, sunglasses and some clothes.

The best part about 6pm is that they have one-day exclusive deep discount sale days. Was that enough words to describe a good deal or what?

For instance, THIS FRIDAY, starting at Midnight – ALL styles of Nine West shoes and boots will be on sale for $19.95. Yes, $19.95. Now that is a scary good deal for the eve of Halloween!

One of our contributors got 5 pairs of Uggs last year from 6pm for…$100. Like she said, Deal of the Century!

Last week, I received a box with 7 pairs of Gabrielle Rocha shoes for $60. Most of them summer styles that I have tucked away but a couple pairs of flats that I am enjoying right now.

Okay, so what is the catch?

• Well, shipping is not free but it is cheap right now – $6.95 for your entire order. You are responsible for shipping back should you need to return them. Since this could be expensive, you should really know what you are ordering.

• Know your size in specific brands. I have never worn (or heard of for that matter) Gabrielle Rocha shoes. I would have ordered a half size smaller had I been able to try them on. Some of the shoes were only $6, though. All of the summer styles fit and two of the fall styles I ordered fit. So, I’m consigning the rest because I will make more money that way than it will cost me to send them back.

The shoes are nice. Leather. Suede. Nicely constructed. I’m mostly satisfied. Honestly, I prefer to try on a shoe and walk around in it before I buy it. So, I’m not sure I would use this site for much more than really great deals.

• You need to get in on the exclusive sales early – as in wait up until Midnight – or your size may be gone before you even check out.

Styles are mixed but there are many current styles on the site.

• You need to sign up on the 6pm website to receive the exclusive alerts to sales.

And if you don’t find what you are looking for there after looking at all those pretty shoes, remember Zappos and Piperlime for online shoe shopping. Actually, both of those sites are selling some great clothes now like 7 For All Mankind and Joe’s Jeans . Remember that shipping is free both ways at these two sites.
