Hello out there and welcome to Chic Critique. This week we are taking a break in our regularly scheduled programming to bring you a fun carnival called What’s In Your Makeup Bag? You are welcome to join in. There will be a MckLinky at the bottom of the post if you care to post about what’s in YOUR makeup bag.
Throughout the week we will be re-introducing ourselves and sharing our morning git-ready routines, and I thought it would be fun to do a video. But for those of you who are too lazy busy to sit through a video this morning, I’ll give you a quick summary of my makeup bag below.
But first, I’m Jo-Lynne, and I started Chic Critique because I saw a lot of beauty and fashion blogs, but most weren’t really addressing the needs of regular women and busy moms on the go. We started out with two contributors posting three times a week, and now, two years later, we have 12 contributors posting five days a week. This is a great group of women, and I’ve learned so much from them. We really hope you enjoy Chic Critique, and we welcome feedback and suggestions at any time!
So as far as my makeup bag is concerned, here is a list of what I wear {almost} every day:

I got it at Target. Cheap AND cute. Can’t beat that, right?
You are so funny about the blush! I have the lipgloss & refuse to tell anyone what color it is when they ask. I just get out the tube & show them.

Great video Jo-Lynne—I use that Urban Decay eye primer (think I may have even reviewed it on here) – LOVE that stuff!!
I just LOVE seeing what everyone uses – I get stuck in a rut and just keep buying the same things…..until I hear someone talk about something they love!!
speaking of which…….I love your makeup bag……I use a tote box (tackle box like) because I like to open it up and see everything….but I need a new one, you bag is so cute!

I use to use a combination of products, until I discovered Bare Escentuals four years ago. What was once my makeup bag, is now my large makeup tool chest filled with my passionate Bare Escentuals addiction! I love how my skin feels like it can breathe but has full coverage. It lasts throughout the day, and does not melt in the heat, or run if it gets wet. Touch ups are flawless, and it actually takes me less time to put it all on than before. As for the colors, before Bare Escentuals I wore the same colors all the time. I now wear all kinds of shades, makeup is so fun with them. Something about their shades blend and go on so smoothly. It is also good for your skin, no chemicals or starches. I could go on and on about their products! 🙂

One of these days, I’m going to spring for the Nars blush. But, wanna know what I just bought as a result of watching your video? That rockin’ sweater! I thought it was so cute when you first mentioned one over at MoH, but then when I saw it on you (even on just half of you!) I had to have one. Just bought it in oatmeal. So, seeing as I just spent $42 on a sweater, I guess the blush is going to have to wait. 🙂

Hi Jo-Lynne. Regarding that foundation primer, I followed the link and it looks interesting enough that I might just have to buy some to try it for myself. There are 4 different versions, though (regular, hydrating, oil-free and mineral). Do you use the regular? Also, do you use any foundation or just concealer/camouflage and powder?
I’m a bit undecided on whether to get mineral or hydrating, because I use a creme-to-powder foundation in the summer months and a mineral powder foundation for all the other months when it’s not too hot outside. Maybe I should just get regular and call it good. 🙂
