I do 90% of my shopping online. I’m a busy working momma and I can’t be spending hours at the mall on my precious off days.
In order to simplify online shopping even further I have a few secret weapons.
Shop it To Me: With this site you can set your preferences about which sales you’d like to be notified of via email. Including which brands, designers, sizes, types, gender, and whether its for adult or children’s clothing. I’ve got my preferences set for me, hubby and my two kiddos. When they go up a size {or I do *ahem*} I just log in and change my preferences. You can choose how often you wish to be notified as well. I get my Salemails every Tuesday.
HauteLook: I like designer things, but I’m also a girl on a budget. With the daily designer sales at HauteLook I don’t have to kill my wallet if I want a nice pair of designer denim or designer leather pumps. Their sales aren’t limited to just clothes either. I’ve seen makeup, perfume, jewelry, skin care and even food! I’ve purchased several things from HauteLook and have been pleased with everything so far. I do have to mention though, not all designer sales are created equal. Even some of the sale prices are out of my league, it just depends on the designer.
ShopStyle: For those times when you’re looking for something specific {like a peacock feather dress, for example}. Just type in what you’re looking for and the site will scan all major retailers for that item. You can even specify price, color, brand, and size. I use this site a lot. I love that you can hover over the search results and see what other colors the item comes in as well as add to your favorites, share with a friend, etc. Pretty nifty.
Polyvore: I just started using this site a few months ago. At first it was just fun to play around with but then it became apparent that this was a good shopping tool as well. With this site you can create looks by dragging and dropping pictures of clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc into a frame to see how they all look together. As with some of the other sites I mentioned, you can filter your search by color and price. Recently I was inspired to put together my beach look for my trip coming up in May. I needed a new swimsuit and I knew I wanted a black one piece and preferably a teal coverup. I was able to find several things, across many websites, to get the look I was after.

MrRebates: If you shop online, you need to be doing so through a rebate site. A friend told me about MrRebates three years ago, and I’ve been using it since. During that time, through my purchases and those of my referrals I’ve earned quite a bit of money back in rebates. Each retailer offers a different percentage, and any applicable coupon codes will be listed there as well. It takes $25 in rebates to cash out and there’s even an option to have it transferred via Paypal.
So there you have it, my online shopping secret weapons. Do you have any tried and true ones you’d like to share?
*I did not receive compensation from the companies listed above to suggest their services. I did however include two referral links. One for HauteLook, the other for MrRebates.

I’m glad I’m not the only person who is completely obsessed with online shopping. 🙂
I haven’t ever used Mr. Rebates – I have always used eBates…. might have to check that one out!
I love Alice.com for my grocery / household goods shopping. Prices are comparable to my local grocery stores, selection is good, and shipping is always free!
I also love, love, love Endless.com for my shoes and purses. 2-day shipping is free (both ways!) so for my wedding I ordered 7 pairs of shoes I liked, tried them each on with the dress, kept the ones I wanted, and returned the ones I didn’t! So easy. I also recently discovered their beautiful purse selection and bought a gorgeous red purse that’s gotten tons of compliments!
Enjoy, fellow online shopaholics! 😉
I also use retailmenot before I make a purchase to see if there are any online coupons for a percentage off or free shipping!
Good point! I used to do that until I realized Mr Rebates listed them for me. Not sure if other rebate programs do {like eBates} so I’m glad you brought it up!
I belong to an absurd number of secret sale sites, but my faves are Rue la la, Ideeli, Hautelook and Gilt. Shopstyle is awesome.
I belong to Ideeli as well, but I haven’t purchased from there yet.
I belong to a ton of those designer sale sites but I have yet to purchase anything from them. I also like Covet.com which sounds a lot like Shop It To Me. I just purchased a new purse and a new top from their suggestions! I also use e-bates. It is great to get paid back for shopping! I have to do most of my shopping online because I work full-time. And since I work on a computer all day I can do online shopping when I get breaks!
I belong to Ideeli as well, but I haven’t purchased from there yet.
